Yesterday (5/17) Max Quinzani of Duxbury broke the Massachusetts State scoring record of 523 points on an assist in the 3rd quarter. He finished the game with 6 goals and 9 assists giving him a career total of 524 points. Next up on the list is Casey Powell and the National Record of 553 points. Quinzani has 3 regular season games and then the state playoffs left.

Quinzani was one of seven recruits headed to Duke, but it's now in the air whether he's going or not. Tough year for the kid. He also was arrested from DUI. In a lot of ways, he really reflects what lacrosse is going through as a sport.

Im from North Andover and i know that Connolly is sick...to get that many points and then head to UMASS starting as a freshman. I know Quinzani too...they both are sick but everyone says that Quinzani is automatically much better then Connolly because he plays D1. I really don't think its that much of a difference between a good d1 school and a good d2 school, i've seen them both. If you do not agree with that, here is something to balance it out between the two.
Quinzani has high quality teamates that can help him through the way obviously giving him better chances to score since they have such better players (he had 4 teammates that were all scholastic AND all american). But as for connolly, last year he held the team (with no all scholastic or all americans). So he didn't get that much benifit from other teammates and he had to do a lot of the work himself. If you haven't noticed, North Andover sucks this year with out him. I really think there is no way of telling who is better until they both are sophmores and juniors in college.

Well for the point you made about having great players get him the ball, that could also make it harder to get points, if you have to spread the wealth, he would get more points probably on a bad team. And connelly whos playiing amazing, in collge dont get me wrong, his dad as you obviously know was his coach and when i saw him everysingle feed was to him.

today was his last game and i think he might have beat it...but if he didn't does the points that he gets in the state tournment add to the 545+ that he got in the regular season, or is it totally seperate, thus if he didn't beat the record in the regular season, then hes done

There we go. The AA committee had no reason to deny him AA this year. Ok, maybe they did, but they should've given it to him. He got shafted...

I was watching the news and he said he was commited to Duke, he said he had looked at other schools and still like what Duke offered.

Sorry to bump this old thread, but b-waterlax is right. He was at Top Gun, and told us that he had looked at Princeton (Wouldn't look at his applications), Cornell (Didn't like the campus), and Penn (Same as Princeton). So he's sticking with Duke, and since the team is re-instated, he's pretty sure they'll have a decent year.

That's insane that he didn't get AA. He broke Casey Powell's points record, what more did they want out of this kid?

He's quoted near the bottom saying if Princeton or Penn accepted his late application, he wouldn't be at Duke right now. Tough break for the kid, again.

I hate people who defend that kind of thing. He broke the law, bottom line. The beer could've been for an arts and crafts project that he was going to donate to charity, its still against the law.
Max Quinzani is a good player, he seems like a good guy, but I completely understand why he wasn't AA. Remember Kobe Bryant's rape trial? He clearly didn't do it and was acquitted, but lost all his sponsors because they didn't want to be associated with a possible rapist. The coaches in the area weren't biased, they just don't want their area to be represented by someone who possibly is a drunk driver, even if he isn't.

This kid is sick. Is he decieded on his college yet? In June's issue of IL it lists the UA All-America team. And it says he is undecieded on college. And I'd rather be on UA's AA team. They pick the best players.

um, actually, a person selected last year (05) in Mass as an AA had been busted that season for alcohol, so there goes the "they just don't want their area to be represented by...."........
