how many of you on TLF actually start?
Personally I'm not great but I've only been playing attack for 1/2 a year and Goalie for the other 2 and I don't get much attack time. (I stopped goalie because I didn't like it I was forced to until a good goalie came.)

Ive started every game. Except I'm really upset at myself cause im the only one that practiced hard in the offseason and i care about lax the most on the team and was hoping to lead the team but that hasnt happened this season...

I started every game this season, and generally played all game except for maybe 5-10 minutes, except the last game where I was out for a pretty long time, maybe 15-20 minutes of pure game time.

Wow even though I work my but off for JV and I'm a freshman I still don't play because I'm not big enough That shouldn't matter If you r better than the starter, right?

I started playing lacrosse in September. By February or March i was starting every game at middie. The last few games i played probably 75% of the game.

Size isn't everything in lacrosse. If you're better then a caoch should play you, regardless of size.

In a perfectly coached world no, that shouldn't matter. But my old coach especially favored people based on their physcial attributes, and at our age the bigger guy is usually gonna have an advantage based on the coach's first impressions and the fact that they can probably lay you out going for that groundball, faceoff etc..
So yeah being a skinny kid hasn't helped my stock and I rode the bench my first two years of playing.

i've played for two years, and have started every game. I've only sat out for one quarter, one for a rolled ankle. I play attack, so i really have never seen the bench.

I am pretty sure kids that don't start probably won't post it saying they don't start. I don't start, im a second line face middy for jv. I dont reall have a problem with it because im only a frosh so i understand senority and that stuff. I get my fair share of time though because i am on man down.

I too start every game and then after half i am sitting on the bench watching my team play and when i do stand on the line wanting to play and waiting for my turn my coach will look right past me like im not there and i just want to take a shaft and smoke him across the face when he does it. he knows im there but won play me andi work hard in practice.

varsity second line middie also d mid and backup man down.
started every game even though i left an elbow pad at school
instead of putting someone else in the coach told someone to take off his elbow pads and give them to me
sometimes i was in all game if it was important
if i came out it was because i was exhausted

back up varisty goalie for the next three years including this one but ill start my senior year...kinda sucks but i gotta just keep tryign to pass teh starter even tho i think if i do get better then him before he graduates coaches probably wont give me the chance becuase their obsessed with our starter.

Well that depends. I have much better stick handles than some of the bigger defensemen on my team. But im just too small to start. And im slow..
I started all games except the first one. I was on the freshman team but I probably could have moved up halfway through the season.

i've started one game this year and gotten an avg. of about 7 minutes per game (backup long pole) but it's my first year so hopefully next year i'll be stronger and have better skills overall. =]

Starting longpole and captain. Ive started every game since I switched to a long pole last year I guess it was a good thing my friends were to goal crazy because it helped me out in the end.

the next 'one'

i start pretty much every game, and our middies rotate about every minute...and i go in every other time, sometimes if our lines are uneven i will stay in
so on average, i get about 28-32 minutes of playing time a game...

thats kinda like my situation right now exept a little different. theres a sophomore who is a goalie and he is pretty good and that would not bother me much but....theres a fellow freshman who is even better than he is. so that means that either:
A:i cant beat either of them out and im on jv until senior year
B: i can beat the sophomore but not the freshman and i ride the bench on varsity all of high school
C:change positions
for some reason i dont think my teammates, or the coaches for that matter, will be happy with choice C.

A lot of the time I didn't start last season. I started working harder in practice (running every play like it was my last, sprinting as often as I could, and just doing everything the way coach wanted) and played more in games.

haha thats funny carrol. really funny. You do't start because you have no stick skills, you don't know how to run, and you can't play D.
i concur. carroll, you don't start because you suck and your on academic phrobation(GPA 1.5)

i was a captain on jv and started off and on. like maybe half of em or so. the kid who started over me had seniorty though even though most people on the team thought i was a better player. and in the end, i was the one who got moved up to play varsity not him so its all good.
