Garden City embarrases itself

Just read that Garden City beat New Hyde Park 34-0. While I know that Doc Dougherty is a great coach, he should be embarrased for allowing his team to run up the score the way they did. I'm quite sure that he could have played only his 3rd and 4th lines and still would have beaten NHP handily, and would have given kids with less playing time this year a great high!

In looking at his record this season, it shows that his team ran up huge scores on terrible teams . . . and his top plyers will be touting their "Stats" for years to come . . . hen you're beating teams 34-0, 24-1, 23-4, etc., there is no need to keep your top players out there to pad their individual stats.

Shame on you Doc!

Yeah, when it gets to this point, you have your team pass around and shoot maybe once every few minutes. You can't just have your team shut down since you're up by that much, because that in itself is an insult.

dude i just made a thread about this liek two days ago. its crazy that they do that n they just beat Jericho today 20-2.

Their coach needs to schedule games with teams that are comparable in skill. It is shameful to run up scores like that. Teams in our area try to do it as often as they can and I am usually disgusted that anyone would do anything as dick-like as that.

There is just no reason to embarass a team like that. While they do not get to set their schedule, they have been around long enough to know who has a strong team, and who doesn't. Against squads like NHP & Jericho, Doc could even let move some of his JV guys up to get the experience.
