I have been reading the elacrosse tutorial and it says when youre done to remove the stick from the hot water/dye and run it under cold water, if i am wanting to do a fade, would i need to retape what I had already died?

You don't need tape to fade, all you need to do is read this tutorial (http://laxnation.com/home/displayarticle.php?category=dying&title=fade&articleid=190) and I think youll find it answers all your questions. **Tape and glue are only needed if you want a isolated design or you want it to stop at a certain point, not for overall dying and all that. Good Luck Man! Look forward to seeing pics!

so if i wanted a dark brown to light brown to light blue to royal blue with no white in the middle would i let the blue come in contact with the brown? and if those overlapped somewhat would the colors blend and be ugly..?

also how true is the color of the dye once it is removed from the hot water and dye before rinsing? does the color change much?

you would dye the whole thing purple, than cover the parts you want to stay purple with hot glue, than you do a bottom black fade, than yor done.
