what are some pockets that you should be able to string before you try a rockit pocket? i think i remember someone saying a torpedo, but are there any others?

well you could start with a pita to get the basics of stringing customs down, then the torpedo because of the knots and similarities, then just try the RP and follow the pictures carefully

Defanitely a torpedo pocket, and also maybe a pita or something to get experience and knowledge of how stringin works if you've never done a custom. Then try the rp, and it will probably take more than one try to get it down.
Edit: ^^Beat me to it.

Try anything. REgular trad, pita, torpedo, just anything will help you get the techniques down.
