Anyone have any predictions for the upcoming season? I already posted mine on another forum, but they seem to be getting no attention and everyone is so much livelier here anyway...So check it out:
Cannons - Rochester in the final.
Cannnons win by 2.
Oh, hell, let's just go nuts with predictions, shall we?
Conor Gill becomes god among lax players scores 4 goals a game to go with 3 assists, David Evans retires, Powell's are 1 and 2 in goals, Dan Denihan leads in overall points, Hubbard sustains massive injury at the hands of Rob Doerr, The Philly teams goes a game over .500, NJ becomes the new doormat of the league, Gait injures his back misses half the seaosn and then comes back only to fall in the playoffs, John Gagliardi retires, Greg Cattrano Scores his first MLL goal, Jake Bergey completes his first healthy season in the MLL and makes all league team, donegar shoots 125mph in the Skills competition and shatters the old record, Doc reaches 30 saves in a single game by the third week.
Just some minor predictions.

Nice. I think its Rochester- Boston in the final as well.
Baltimore almost misses the playoffs as Mark Millon gets too old, and is not a gamebreaker anymore. Gary Gait retires-as a player. The Bayhhawks are saved by Mike Powell.
The Barrage nearly make the playoffs, but lack of team defense hurts them. Mike Powell is the first pick to Baltimore, and gets rookie of the year.
NJ fails to make the playoffs, and either the coach is fired, Hubbard is traded, or the team relocates. The Cannons draft Ryan Boyle and go crazy on offense. No comment on how C&R Powell do.

haha wow this is awesome...here we go...
boston-baltimore in the final
boston wins the championship
mike powell no question wins rookie of the year, gary gait retires, mark millon has his worst season yet, hubbard breaks record for goals in a year, casey powell finishes first in points, connor gill second, hubbard 3rd, denihan fourth and ryan powell fifth...lizards fail to make playoffs as do the rattlers...barrage loses to boston in one semi, new jersey to baltimore in another...sal locascio is fired after this year...jay jalbert gets injured and doesnt play in half the season...cannons draft zink/staines, go unsane on defense and have the best goals against average in the league...tillman johnson is a bust, and wins 1-2 games for the ratts in net!!!...Connor Gill gets ridiculous and leads the league in assists by far, same with Regan (2pters)...Boyle plays for the barrage and goes insane for them, does well with denihan...Curtis wins Dpole of the Year again...Powell offensive player of the year...Mike Powell rookie of the year...
CONNOR GILL WINS MVP FOR HIS RECORD PERFORMANCE IN PLAYOFFS, CANNNONS WIN TITLE!
by the way, no bias here, haha

- I'm picking Ryan as the most productive of the 3 brothers.
- Final I'm picking Boston and Long Island, Cannons take it.
- Rochester makes the playoffs and has an above .500 record
- Guy Van Arsdale goes on the Jared diet and emerges about the size of Mark Millon
- Doughtery, seeing this, tries the Atkins diet and instead of carrying a water bottle around, he carries a steak shake.
- As MVP I'm picking Conor Gill just because they always pick a player on one of the championship squads. Although in fairness, I would prefer to pick Adam Doneger.

Forgot about Doneger. Here is my specific Rattler predictions.
-Doneger, Cassese, and Mollot play extremely well
-Rattlers draft a faceoff man
-Tillman does ok
-Ryan Mollet steps up as the no.1 defender dude to the Abrams injury
-John Glatzel and Howley step up.

No more Doneger, Powellfan....how do you think AJ Shannon will do? The two were swapped today

I know. Now the people that we need to step up are Mollot and Cassese. Maybe even Ryan Boyle if we can draft him.

dont worry, i have a feeling that Cassese will step up, he is very good

Yeah Cassese really is an unbelievable player...but youre right, hes going to have to step up his game to fill in donegers shoes...If boyle goes to the Ratts, imagine him on a line with the two of the best scorers of all time...he is going to FLOURISH there

So I was sitting here trying to think of what two teams from each division would make the play-offs. I could never pick cause I keep thinking of all the positives from each team, and each team was stacked so it was hard to find negatives. Thats when it hit me. Its the teams with the better records that make the playoffs not the top two from each divistion. This made things much easier. See, I believe that in the last few years alot of the talent has shifted to the American League. Here are some of the big names that have gone from the National Division to the American Division in the last few years: Cattrano, Regan, Dougherty, Denihan. Thats a big deal, and as a result the American Divistion is hogging all the good goalies. Three of the top four are over there, and all have good defenses in front of them. So The teams making the play-off will be: Long Island, Philly, Boston, and..............well I guess that its not that easy. Its tough to pick the team coming out of the nationals division. After the Draft baltimore will have a ridiculous offense, but they will have the weakest D in the league. NJ will have one of the best Ds in the league and have very good offensive stars, but are thin at all spots. Rochester (my team:agree ) is looking good but may be spoty at goalie. Rochesters D is talented, but can they play together, it didn't happen last year. So after looking at the teams it puts us back to where we began. i'm going to pick Rochester, cause i think the goalie position will shore up and they have the best ALL- AROUND team, and maybe cause they are my team.
So my final four pick look like this. Long Island vs. Boston, and Philly vs. Rochester. Championship will be be Long Island vs. Rochester, with Long Island winning (darn).
Other predictions-all three Powells will be in the top ten in scoring.
-Mike gets ROY
-Jay Jalbert, Cat, and Hubbard are the big MVP candidates, with Jay repeating.
-O.J. Hara (new Rochester coach) is Coach of the year.
-Cat is goalie of the year
-Offensive player is a race between the Powells, Hubbard, Millon, Springer, and Gill, and Hubbard wins it
-D-pole of the year is Curtis again, but Cook and McClay are very close.

I think the 4 spots into the playoffs are gonna be LI, Boston, Rochester, and Philly. NJ looks too thin and Baltimore, it's hard to not like them but they're getting older which is multiplied by their key loss in goal and at D. Making educated guesses will be semi-easier once we know who gets who in the college draft.
