What is a run and a clear?

My coach wants to know what a run and a clear is, in terms of plays. Does anyone know what these are?

a clear is when the team attempts to take the ball from defense to the offensive side of the field and i think you mean a ride for the other one.
A ride is when the attackmen/middies on team A, try to take away the ball when d/middies on team B try to clear the ball

I am really guessing your coach is just beginning to play lacrosse. Well if he is referreing to a run, he could be referring to a cut, possibly.
