Freshman Rituals

What are some things you guys to to freshman, whether its just to break them in or on trips.

Every year we go on the same tournment...7-8 hour bus ride. We make the freshman get on the loud speaker at the front of the bus and tell a joke, if the jokes not funny ( there has never been a "funny" joke ) then we throw them in the tiny bathroom in the back of the bus...we fit 8 kids in there this year. Josh White gave us this idea and told us at Princeton they fit 12 people inside the bus bathroom...I dont even see this as being possible

we go down south where its warm every year for preseason, and give the freshman funny haircuts.... a classic

We ussually have a JV beat-down on the last practice day of regular season. Always fun, except this year some of the bigger football players started out, so they were on jv, and well, we barely pulled it out, had the attack (all about 5'2" and 130) swarm them.

im a freshman and no one ever did anything to me, mostly because i usualy have a hat trick every game

our teams used to just beat the crap outta the freshmen, this year since we have a new coach we just messed with their sticks, i threw our goalies stick on the roof of the school. One of our middies messed with one of our 1st string attackmen's stick and gave it so much hold and when he took a hard shot the ball hit the ground right in front of him and it bounced up and hit him in the nuts.

isn't there a thread on this already? so here goes. three things.

1. we make the frosh run pratice one day with regular pads, jersey, everything, above waist, but below waist -- just their compression shorts and jock/cup -- no lax shorts. some of the guys wear boxers, but most are wearing their spandex. it's hysterical and the girls love it.

2. we make the frosh serenade the girls lax players in the cafeteria. everyone watches. they're pretty bad. everyone laughs, including the frosh. it's all good-natured fun.

3. jockygen! in the locker room, sometimes a group of us will target a designated frosh. usually the cockiest, most arrogant one. we'll go after him, grab his arms and legs, hold him down on the bench or floor (there's usually quite a struggle), and give him "jockygen." i.e. hold a cup to his face and let him breathe in the vapors. gross. but it puts him in his place. esp. if 8-10 varsity players are all taking part and holding him down. no, we don't strip him down to his underwear. no, we don't sexually assault him. again, just clean fun.

any similar stories? jockygen, anyone?

i was the third varsity attackman my freshman year for a team that just came off a state championship season...myself and two senior all-state attackman...i know i was picked for lack of attackman, but i was alright. Anyways the entire season EVERY SINGLE THING I DID....including a game winning goal in over-time, I got some kind of crap for....even for doing the right thing, i got told what i could do better. Those two were SOOOO overly hard on me, it really helped me step up and become a better player.

last year as a freshman we had to get up onstage at a pizza place and tell everyone how gay we were. everyone found it hilarious! fun times! this year was good: at practice we had all the freshman go ask all the varisty girls to prom in their compression shorts and no shirt

well we just rush the JV team while they are practicing. it is great fun becuase they are all deathly scared of me. i played with mostof them back in middle school and they watch my games so i dont blame them... hehhe

we made our freshman yesterday sing "Why do you build me up, Buttercup?" at the end of practice. We wouldve done it earlier in the year, but we waited till playoffs cause we'd be bringing kids up from JV
