View Full Version : Strong shafts- which one?

So I have decided that I need to order a new shaft for next season (actually I am forced to). My alloy shafts are all badly dented and slightly bent.
So the shafts I am considering are:
Mohawk Ti
Maverik Wonderboy
Harrow Monster
Warrior Titan Classic
So basically my question is what shaft should I go for? Weight isn't a big issue (as you can tell from some of my selections) and I need a shaft that will last a while.

Apparently, Mohawk TIs are tanks.

I heard wonderboys snap like twigs.
The titan bends real easy, even as a shorty.

That is my main reason for being interested in it.

Hmmm. That's dissapointing.
I am interested in the mohawk because it looks very burly and so does the monster. So, I guess it's between those 2.

I would get the harrow monster. I hear that thing is a beast. Plus it comes with a good warrenty. I've never had experience with a mohawk ti, but I hear they can take a beating and survive. (However, be warned that the mohawk and monster weigh more than the titan classic and wonderboy, something to look out for if you don't care for heavy shafts).

I myself have never owned any of those shafts, but my friends tell me the monster rocks. And it comes from harrow, so it has to be sweeet.

get either the mowhawk or the debeer orange crusher. they are about the same strength. the crusher is $10 more but has a differnt feel. i prefere the crusher

I will never buy a debeer shaft again. I snapped one clean in half and they refused to warranty it.
I think I am going to go with the harrow.

Ive heard some amazing things about MIL Ti's...And for 55, you cant go wrong. Maybe an old school Fatboy if you can find one, those are near-indestructable.

They could probably break a monster.

No. A monster could break them
I broke two MIL's so far.

Endless are you saying a mohawk ti is only 55 dollars? If so I could buy both......Hmmm. I really like the way the harrow shafts feel though.

Harrow Monster, or F15...
Both are great... F15s are cheap, if you can find one. and the Powergrip is a tad bit heavier... but a great deal stronger(and nicer imho.)

I'm not sure why you would suggest an f15. I kill those. Any of the lowend aluminum shafts out there I kill.
I want a stronger shaft and am mainly looking at a monster or mohawk for this reason.

That isnt a "low end aluminum shaft". Its Cu31, and its actually really nice.

It's a cheap shaft. I have broken them before. That's my point. My AL6000's lasted longer.

Im guessing you have used the f15 more than the aluminum, resulting in the f15 breaking quicker :) And if you want a strong shaft, the mohawk ti or the monster are arguably the strongest shafts in the game. The Mohawk Ti is uber heavy though, because the walls are so thick. Its almost impossible to dent for that reason.

Not flaming, just listen. The Monster is really strong, it actually can snap titanium shafts because it is so thick.
Harrows are usually thin but the monster is thick.

I used my AL6000's for about 3 weeks each. The brine got destroyed within 1 week. It isn't a very strong shaft. It didn't dent but it ended up bending at a 10 degree angle.
I think I am going with the monster. But does anyone know how much the mohawk Ti costs?

this is basically a prefrence-type situation
what i would suggest is going out to your team/friends or some rare if any lacrosse stores near you that carry these and try them out
as much as someone can tell you what is best for them, its different for every situation and player.
however, i have seen the monster and titan classic alot more than all these other shafts

If you don't mind spending more cash, and you like the feel of Harrows, I would go with the Monster. I have never used one in a game, but I used one that belonged to a guy that plays in the NLL, and he said that he absolutely loves it. They are kinda heavy, but depending on your style of play, that might suit you. I personally love heavy sticks, so it would be perfect for me. And if you want it to look really good, pick up one of those Team Canada shafts, those are uber sick.

I have a titan classic, they are beasts, I use mine constantly and no dents, just scratching. It's the titan pro's that you want to stay away from.

The mohawk TI is about 65 maybe? its pretty cheap. The monstor is around 100 i think.

the mohawk ti is the strongest of the group but also the heaviest. i dont know if u need that much strength, its up to u. overall i personally would go with the titan classic. it is light and also strong. not nearly as strong as the mohawk though. so if weight rly rly doesnt matter get the mohawk. dont get the wonderboy they r twigs

The monster is...well, a monster. It will snap just about any other shaft
