the helmet actually looks crazy in person. I forget what it was for, but there was a dial in the very back bottom of the helmet that controls either an air linar or the tightness, or something I can't remember.

When I think about it, I realize:

Won't any weight saved by the holes in the shaft be compensated (and probably overcompensated) by the solid metal rings around the holes? It is clear the holes are a gimmick, brine will say it makes you shoot faster. Pulse + Hole shaft, you can increase your shot speed by maybe a half a mile per hour, at most.

Holed shaft: Like Wubbie said, is gonna rip some gloves. Nice idea, but probably won't work.

Triumph helmet: Pretty sweet. Looks like the Triads, and I hope it is as good as my Brine SP (Or something like that).

Voyce: Pretty sweet. Looks like a very good head. I can't wait to see the price tag.

Exodus 2's: Very cool I think. I hope they have lots of colors and are customizable.

King's: They are I think the "Mac Daddy" of Brine gloves. They look sweet. I wonder how good of quality they are, and if they are prefered over the Exodus 2's by college player's and such.

I also wonder what head is after the helmet, you didn't give it a description. All heads though look like the Brine Edge sidewall in a way (The Voyce and the other head. The other head looks more like an Answer, but the Answer looks like the Edge).

Any type of obtrusion(or in this case a 'de-trusion') is bound to cause tear quicker... Look at tape, it wears down your gloves...

The holes have sharp edges(even if they're sanded down really well, they're bound to be sharper then a flat surface.) and the fact you'll be rubbing up against them is going to force gloves to tear, eventually...

Now for the gear...oh and THANK YOU VERYYYYY MUCH for the pictures....you are a hero to those of us who couldnt make it to the final four this year ( freaking school finals! )

Putting the holes in the shaft actually won't make it weaker. Though it adds a stress concentration factor at the edges, the holes are produced by a machine the rolls over the shaft. The rolling actually cold works the shaft, adding dislocation tangles and, in the end, actually increasing the shaft's strength. I'm not sure it will be noticeable, and when the shaft does break (every shaft breaks) the fracture will almost definitely go through the edge of one of the holes and everyone will talk about how the holes make the shaft weak (but everyone will be wrong).

can someone tell me more about the helmet. I tested out a helmet for brine last summer that they said would be out this year. The one we had had a dial in the back that would compress a band that would tighten or loosen the fit of the helmet. We also tested out a tightening thing on the back of the helmet similar to those found on rollerblades.They also showed us some designs that they had for the helmet that included the visor, shell, and cage design.

i think those E2's are so sleek looking. the kings are really ugly but they look oh so comfortable. i agree and think they will be the mac daddy of brine's gloves. that helmet just looks amazing. i am sure that the dial in the back is for a more custom fit around the head. i am willing to bet they have that same OC-Lock as on the xp's and such, and instead of having the clips or velcro on the side that tighten it, you use the dial. the shaft looks nice, and i bet it would sound so awesome when you whip it through the air on a shot. like those nerf darts with holes in the tip that whistle when you shoot them...and i like the heads. the 'clutch' if thats what its called has sweet looking sidewalls. is the voyce gray and white? like 2 different colors? it looks like the back part of the head, like along the stringing holes is gray. plus it looks REALLY offset.

At the finals, brine is showcasing some of next years stuff. The Powells were there and they were giving away free sweat bands.

I only saw a Brine tent this year. It was inside the stadium property on ground level. However, it didn't look like they were selling anything other than 2006 championship tees. I know that the Powells were there signing stuff, they gave away free sweatbands, one brine one and one MP one. They were also showcasing a few of the new stuff along with some Pythons, Pulses, Sc21s, and other popular stuff like that. They also had a fastest shot contest next door. Other tents were Cingular who also gave out sweatbands and cards that told you how to get the MP cell phone game. Cingular also had a few games. There were also a few tents with basketball, football, and other sports (exempt baseball of course).

Those were my thoughts exactly. In order for the holes to make the shaft weaker, it would almost have to get hit right on the hole. Those holes aren't big enough to make the shaft weaker.

Also about the holes cutting up gloves, I'm sure they are rounded in. When you slide your hand over them, you won't even feel the hole. The warrior diamond would probably rip up gloves more than those holes.

voyce- im not a fan of the gradual pinch...i have and e3, it has a gradual pinch but it is so pinched u cant tell...the head looks of...maybe sidewalls are a little more than 1inch so im a no, also, looks liek a torque...im holding it up to both my edge, e3 and torque and it looks the the torque

clutch-looks like the much needed pro version of the answer...maybe this one won't warp in 2 days...i liek it though

triumph helmet-looks lie a fusion of xp2 and cpx...i like it!

i honestly think that it is going to be the year of brine...just like this past season was good for STX and its proton power, primer and kannon, this is another brine year like 2004-2005 with the motive and e3...

i just got the e3 but ya...ill look into all the new stuff but i really want is for MP to come out with some shoulder pads for me to rock...im using avalanches right now and if he doesn't give me anything promising to buy ill prob have to go withspartan cores or...dare i say it...hitman pads from warrior <stratswerve shivers at the thought of warrior products>

The heads look pretty standard issue (though if it were up to me I'd call it the "Royce".....) so I'll wait until more info is out, then again, I just came into an answer so it will be a long time before I get a new head anyways, so I'll wait and see if the reviews would warrant looks.

I like the looks of the Exodus II, though I am on the fence about the Kings, either way they'll probably be more than I want to spend but fingers are crossed that other gloves will go down in price or on sale as a result of the newer stuff. Personally I wish Brine had kept the supafly fingers and thumbs for their gloves.

Helmet looks ok. I was surprised at the lack of vent holes and only time will tell what stage of prototype this helmet is and whether or not it will be able to be released without a recall.

The "hole shaft" picture you just posted is the best picture yet anywhere. I didnt realize it was a scandium until now after seing the green "Sc" logo.

The Helmet also looks really good from that head-on angle.

the powell head they had on display definitly was not the final product, as it was only a laser-cut mold of it. if you look closely, it looks really rough and the ball stop is just paper.

all of this stuff should be out by around novemeber. I'm not sure about the helmets though, there are a few details they're still working through, but if those get cleaned up smoothly, then they should be out in novemeber as well. They're trying to debut them at the world games on the Iroqouis National team

in my opinion, the new helmet is really CPX-ish. its more of a solid shell, not hundreds of vent holes. the way the chin piece connects to the shell is also very similar to a CPX. its like they tried to take the CPX and the XP series and combine them into one helmet. sounds like a good idea, but the CPX still wins me over

I tried some of this stuff out with a brine rep. I tried gloves which had great flexibility and lots of protection on the top of your hand. The helmet is amzing in how great it fits. The memory foam adjusts to your head once you twist the knob in the back, it also includes a great panoramic view. The shaft is pretty nice too in how light and strong it is. And for the goalies there is goinbg to be anew head coming out called the eraser (i think thats what it was). Most of the stuff was pretty good. :thumbsup:

It's kind of hard to get originality when there is on helmet design that is great for the consumer. Look at hockey, most helmets have a similiar design, however each company has their own things that go into it. All the lacrosse helmets may look the same but they all fit differently and have different protection and vision.

my brother just got back from Powell camp and a councellor(SP) across the hall from his room had most of this stuff.
The Clutch is supposed to be like 4 ounces or some rediculous number like that and there is supposed to be 3 scandiums next year, Scandium AIR,(the one with the holes) the regular scandium and the scandium composite. (Kind of like the Krypto pro Kevlar) The kings look insanely awesome.
He said that the Clutch looked weak, probably an attack head. (not weak like warping but weak like snapping. I dont know, thats how he put it)
and the Scandium AIR the holes are very well done and wouldnt mess with your gloves or hands in any way.
The only info that I can confirm my self is about the scandium air and the Kings because those were all I saw when I picked him up.

Slit Shaft-At first it seems like this is another gimick that won't work...but if you really think about it it will work...lighter with extra strength

I tried on the Kings at my local lax store. They were like a fusion between the Flights and the Defts. Comfy like the Flights (not extremely tight though) and with the floating wrist guard and protection of the Defts. They seemed like a solid pair of gloves.
