run faster then the other guy otherwise known as a bulldoge. If you real fast or a bigger attack man or middie use it to run by somone of over someone.

Buy the Mark Millon offensive wizardry. Rocker dodge, inside roll, q-mark, split, change of direction, and shot fakes are in my arsenal.

Only try the swim on a shortie anyway, a long pole will eat you alive.

try the finalizer if you dont know it already.
when your at X, start running in one direction. do a roll dodge, and when your Dman is changing direction towards you, quickly turn inside and go back to the direction you started at. sorry about the bad instuctions...kinda hard to explain on the net.

well theres the face dodge, i always fake dodge(i'll tuck my stick in like im a bout to do a roll and slow down a just twist my body a little and depending on what the d man does ill make my decsion to rool or not) and the swim only works on sucky kids, you might get away with it a couple of times but most of the times you wont come out of the doge with the ball, sick, or you might just get laid out and not come out of the dodge at all
o crap sorry i already posted on these thread....memory lose sorry

Fake like your just gonna blow past him to one side. And when he side steps and is a little off balance change direction and run straight through him

As I work a man who is playing me, I look for a few keys that will let me know when I should make my move. Whether I've just received the ball or am working a Z here is what I look for...

*Is he coming out uncontrolled, w/ his stick high? If so I face dodge. If his stick is low, I may roll dodge.
*If he's playing me tight and overcommits, I take him.
*If he crossed his feet instead of shuffling, I take him.
*I use the pick.
*I enjoy talking to my teammates, telling them to pop out and take the ball. Often, an opponent will drop his guard for just a second, and I'll be able to make my move.

Generally I like to carry my stick in my left hand and run directly at my man first, then break to my left a little and look for his feet to cross. If he does I'll change direction when I think his feet are crossed and at the same time change hands and drive for the feed or the right hand shot. Occasionally I'm able to set up my defenseman by faking a pass to my left while my stick is in my left hand. If he plays the fake I switch to my right for the dodge. I also like to talk a lot to my teammates and say, "take the ball" acting as if I don't want it. If the defensman drops his guard I'll dodge.

whats a rocker? never heard of it

takes advantage of an agressive defenseman's reaction to the potential roll-back and is commonly used at the island (5x5). Just as w/ a questionmark or inside roll, drive high and hard. But, fake the rollback and explode in the original direction. To be successful your head must be up and always looking over your lead shoulder, AND...your stick must remain tucked between your shoulders and chin.

As w/ any change of direction/roll dodge plant hard and spin your head as fast as possible. Read the defensman's position and stick location. If he's late continue on. If he over-reacts...plant hard again and explode high and hard (time & space) for the shot. One trick commonly used is to use your lead arm (dodge initiated) to gain an advantage. Taken from basketball decades ago, drop your lead arm off the stick and have a low "chicken-wing" (high elbow & low hand) and lay it (DON'T force it) against you opponents body. Done properly, your arm will "hook his body &/or arms. You are now in control. Keeping your arm rigid and without moving it, your opponents movement will propel you forward. If you are lucky enough to hook his elbow w/ yours...you control his stick.

Remember, it's been said many times...attention to detail will make a good player a great one. If done properly, you'll never get called for the ward.

btw...your chances for success will increase significantly if you're proficient in a variety of dodges (split, Z, etc.)...keep 'em guessing!

Good luck-

so basicly the rocker is just like a fake roll dodge kind of? i always fake roll but never new it was called anything

will be dependant upon several things. Your opponent; is he highly aggressive always trying to beat you to point "A" or does he have sound technique? If the former exists then your ability to "sell" the move comes into play. Obviously faking an inside roll will get him to overreact. However, if your opponent falls into the latter catagory continue w/ the initial move.

My point being, don't become robotic &/or make assumptions. Treat every defender and situation differently. Rely on your experience, but expect the unexpected. A defenseman's confidence will become exponential if he feels that he "owns" you.

Have fun-
