shooting string help

i just finished stringin my first head on monday. i threw around with it and realized i had put the shooting strings too high and i had to move the top string to the bottom. i took it out, but i cannot get it back in the sidewall hole. the only way i could get it into the other holes was with pliers, but this time all thats doing is screwing up the strings. anyone got ideas on how i can fit the string through the sidewall whole?

get a lighter and burn the tip, then use the pliers to slightly pinch it so it forms kind of a point. This should work and if theres too much on their snip little bits off with scisors.
