Cutting Goalie Mesh to make Regular mesh?

I'm just curious if anyone has tryed that; cutting goalie mesh in half and putting it in an attack/defense head. Does not havingthe reinforced mesh sidewall make a big difference?

never tried it before and never heard of anybody trying it before but i am sure it can be done. it might come out messy though and its prob. a better idea just to buy reg. mesh. it would probably be much weaker also.

ive cut it, but i haven't strung one... im not sure about the pocket but just cut a little extra on the side and it should be fine

i tried that once, and it wasnt horrible, but it was by no means the best thing i have ever strung. if u have some lying around and want to use it, its not that bad to use

I was just wondering cause its cheaper to buy 1 piece of goalie mesh than to buy 2 regular pieces

You cant make 2 pieces of a/m mesh out of 1 goalie. 20D + cut = 1(10D piece) 1(9D piece) The cut down the middle would smite you down.

i know someone who made a normal 10d, 11 d, prety sick, also good for cps

i have done it and it works well. make sure its jima though, the brine goailie mesh is crap

I think this would work very well getting bags on wider heads. You could custom cut the diamonds.

sometimes if its old and used it is stretched wierd from being in a goalie head, and then the pocket is all messed up, it work tho if you do it with new mesh.

When me and the other goalies on my team would restring a head, our assistant coach would hound us for the mesh. He loves it because it gives him a deeper bag.
