Alright, search. Theres a thread on equipment somewhere...
Its ummm, more painful.
You need to be able to make descisions quicker because you run out of room... fast.
Goalies are lot bigger and the nets are smaller... Defense is all containment and cross checks no slashing crap...
Buy a rule book, watch some game(not NLL)

Don't worry too much about the differences. If your playing in a league in Northern VA it will be comprised of field guys playing for fun or to stay in shape in the off-season. The equipment you have is fine and you will be playing a modified version of the box game which means not too much cross-checking and rough stuff. Go out and have fun.

I'm sure its an insurance issue. In the states the box leagues are recreational for the most part so contact is limited. Although it varies depending on how competitive the league and how good the refs are.

Up here in the great white north box is full contact, and very intense,
as far as equiptment change:
You need box rib/kidney pads
Your field shaft will modt likely bend due to cross checking
You need to buy bicep protecters
i think thats it for equiptment
you have 30 second clock
5 players one goalie on at a time
very similiar changing to hockey
power play like hockey
interference if you hit an opposing team player when his team doesnt have they ball, or are not in control of it
theres alot more
like slinky said go watch your age level or above

yeah its way easier to go from box to field than field to box. you gota be mean and intense and not have a problem getting hit everysingle time your out on the floor to play box but its the greatest game on two feet my friend
