Do NOT sign up for any of these bogus pay to be recruited garbage things!! Too many profiteers making big bucks of kids dreams (or dad's dreams whichever).

LaxScout is legit. I went to camp last summer with a kid who was one of their high profile recruits, with the titanium LaxScout CPX and all that.

I heard that it was better just to talk to coaches yourself, and that most coaches don't look at electronic scouts and stuff. That coaches want you to make the effort and show you care by making contact with the school and coaches. And picking the school and coaches yourself.

Yeah, thats what I've heard too. I'm pretty sure that they just combine all of their registered people into a big book that they send out to coaches so unless your one of their gold or titanium members than I don't think coaches are going to look that deep into the book. Its best just to talk to coaches yourself.

Try to see this through the eyes of a college coach. Do you want a list of lacrosse players who have the $$$ to get into a fancy book or do you want a list of lacrosse players with the talent to perform in college. It's a little bitter harder putting together your own list of lacrosse players with the talent to perform in college but you can't win at the college level if you are always looking for the easy solution.

Even though it may be legit, it doesn't really seem worth it if you aren't Titanium or Gold. They put so much emphasis on the recruiting ones that it takes away from the Silver. And I have a question, maybe someone can answer it for me. Besides the CPX for the Titanium level, why are the higher levels more expensive? Sure you are paying for more, but LaxScout seems to want you, so why are you paying them extra?

Just b/c your coach is running it St.JosLax doesnt mean that he isnt just trying to exploit kids and their parents. Sure, it may be a legitimate business, but thats not what we're arguing about. The fact is that many coaches purposely do not look at these lists because its kind of a skeezy practice in the first place.
Its not worth the money. If you are good enough you will get noticed at camps or whatever. LaxScout is very unnessesary.

sounds pretty stupid to me. take the time to actually go out and do it yourself.

That thing sounds like it would work but i bet you could just do it yourself. How hard can it be you remember your games so just think about it and make one.

Lax Scout recently announced they will NOT be printing their magazine edition this year. Pretty disappointing. The exclusiveness of being "titanium" means nothing now. Unless LaxScout changes, this just becomes another online source to post your stats. Save your money.
