View Full Version : best material for a shaft?

please put these in order from strongest to weakest.

titanium,scandium,c405,c555,cu31,platinum alloy,vanadium,zirconium,aluminum,harrow composite,7050 alloy,7075 alloy,

I know it will be tough to put em in order but plz try your best.

aluminum, Platinum= cu31/vanadium/Harrow/, c405/zirconium/ Harrow composite,c555 Scandium/harrow composite, titanium/harrow composite.

7050 is somerwhere, it either cu31 strength or c405.

I think it is: cu31/7070, c405/ 7075.
(based on stength, not material)

Belongs in The Equipment Forum and theres a HUGE thread with everything you need to know about shafts..

Also, gigo, you put aluminum as strongest.. you might have been going weakest to strongest, but he asked other way around..

Ooops, yeah, I was going from weak to most strong.

I would have to say that I personally think that C555 is the strongest.
