This Varsity midfielder yesterday told me that the Attackman's pocket should be lower because they are constantly cradlying vetically. I was wondering if that is true. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

That is preference. I can cradle fine vertical with a middle pocket.

It is preference for the attackman.

Its all preference really. I've found that lower pockets on attack can come in handy, but I prefer a little bit of a higher pocket when playing attack. What he's telling you'll hear from many other people but they are pretty much telling you what they prefer. IN the end, its all preference.

i recently converted from a mid pocket to a low one, and i play mid. i think the ball stays in the pocket better with a low pocket, but i also like the whip you get from a high pocket. its all preference.

I play middie/atk, I use a backpocket because it has more time to leave the pocket and to me that makes a faster shot. some attackmen I have talked to have VERY high pockets because the want the QUICKEST release possible. Therefore, it is personal preference where attackmen put their pockets. ( I'm mostly attack. )

I play attack... rock the low/shallow pocket if you like (like me) one-handed cradling and quick passes/shots. Otherwise I'd probably suggest a mid-pocket.

That is... if you haven't developed your own style yet.

Pocket placement won't affect one handed cradling, unless you have terrible form.

A high pocket can work the same as a low pocket for one handed cradling if its strung correctly and you are pefectly vertical.

slinky i disagree, if u have a high pocket it takes more force in 1 handed cradling to keep it high....if u are going to cradle a bunch 1 handed, i, personally, would not recommend a high pocket

I recently converted to a middle pocket. The the mesh sags down anyway when going 1 handed, so just go with whatever you feel most comftorable with.
