back in the early nineties, there was this "tour" route, along I-10 from Florida to California...local bands would travel this in the summer, and go from town to town "booking" places to play, like one-two days in advance up the road. I ran a rec center that was part of this in 92 & 93. We would get 3-4 local garage bands, and each band would play 2-3 song set, followed by the "headline" band...charge everybody $1 at the door, the headline band got all proceeds after the sound system rental was paid for.

I have no idea if anybody still does this, but it was so cool, that I actually got to see both Rancid and (get this!) Green Day before they "went national," (and Green Day went Mega)...how cool is that?

See if your brother can get in on something like that...if there is such a thing going on, I am now in charge of another rec center that could do this, pm me and I'll set it up for 'em in El Paso, Texas...east of Tucson and Phoenix, west of San Angelo, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio...

Just lemme know...
