black dye

how long should i keep my head in the dye for a good black,
and what colors should i use for a maroon cuz i cant find maroon dye.

I have some maroon RIT dye if you are interested in some. And black needs to sit anywhere from 15-45 minutes. Depending on how many packets you put in etc.

I left my head in black dye for about 10 mins and it turned into maroon. I would say about 20-45 minutes for a good black dye

yeah, a good 20-45 minutes would be a safe bet. also, make sure the water is EXTREMELY hot. a solid, rolling boil for a few minutes would be great. then add the dye and quickly place the head in it. then just come back later and pull it out.

theres already been a couple threads on this, but dye it a dark color first and then dye it black and leave it in for a long time

NO no no, you don't need to dye it aa different color first. Just get one of the liquid RIT dye containers, put your head in, make sure the water is HOT, and leave it for like a day. That was my first dye and i left it overnight and it was perfect. Not purple at all. In other words, BE PATIENT.

For maroon get wine dye and add a little bit of cocoa brown until desired color.
