PEAK Performance Goalie Camp or Bill Pilat's Goalie School are two great goalie camps to go to. I went to Pilat's and I'm an instructor @ PEAK.

I went to peak last year. Theres no college scouts to notice you, but it's good for goalie skills.

You don't have to have college "scouts". There are about 5-6 college coaches there that can talk to you if they think you're what they are looking for.

PEAK is worth it. I've done a camp for Quirk, the head coach of Endicott College, the guy who runs it. I'm pretty sure Sal Lacasio will be there, as well as other great coaches. If you want me to get a list of who all will be there, I can email my coach tomorrow, who is also pretty high up on the PEAK chain.

kjg - do a little research, I'm sure you can find my name

I'll be at the July 20th PEAK Camp as an instructor. I hope to see some of you guys there.

Fitz - No, the great thing about a goalie camp is that it doesn't have to be a week long. Trust me, you'll be getting a lot of attention with whatever you need to work on, plus a ton of things like the mechanics, positioning, technique and so forth. I don't think Pilat's camp is any longer.

Yeh, no problem. I'll call the guy running it tomorrow morning and pm you.

EDIT: I'll try again later, but I tried earlier and he didn't pick up.

stinisonfire, can you describe a typical day at the camp? Do you know what other coaches will be there? What is the process for the videotape analysis? Do you leave with a written review also?

Please pm me. I have a couple of other questions. Thanks

I went to peak, and was recruited by two of the instructer/coaches. I was honest with both of them (just as you always should be). One was a small D3 school that I had little intrest in going to. I told the coach that, and through the recruiting process that coach became an unbiased mentor for me. The other coach was from a successful D1 program, that I had some interest in. It's a nice area to not only meet coaches, but to make friends with some of them as well. Never turn down someone who is generally interested in helping you, like that D3 coach was to me.

Another general thing about goalie recruiting, (now that I am done and headed off to my college of choice in a month or so) look at how many goalie the college has. Do they take one every year? Do they believe in having two or three goalies at one time? Ask the coach if he is even interested in taking a goalie. Some might generally respond to your inquires without even talking about their goalie situation. Some schools many only want you, and are not even looking at other goalies. And don't be afraid to ask if you would compete the first year for a starting position and/or major playing time.
