We had the worst ref today. The guy was like 350 pounds so he stood almost at halfline the whole game so he wouldnt have to run. Then he would make up calls and accidently blow his wistle then after he blew the whistle he gave it to the other team and they got a free clear for no penelty. They this one guy was slashing the hell outa of a player all over the place helmet too... NO call a minute later one of our middies hit him on the hip when he was goin for the stick and called a one minute. Now our coach is usually a quiet guy who never talks back to the ref, he goes crazy and is yellin at him "call both sides ref" the ref blows the whistle and calls a 1 minute in house which i thought was only supposed to be 30 seconds and im pretty sure he didnt even warn our coach. So for the rest of the game our whole team was yellin at the refs everymove. The thing that really pissed me off was when i was tryin to draw some goalie interferance calls he didnt call anything because he was at half resting his fat A$$ from the 10 ft jog he just did :cussing :angry :angry :angry

Refs like that just ruin sports and piss the hell out a me ne one else have that problem

HAHAHAHHAHAHAH. last year, we had this british ref lady, who was quite the chubbster, and she'd stand on one side of the field, and there's another ref that stands on the other side. well usually they're suppose to run up and down the field according to the ball.... nah, she jogged to midfield, and then just watched from there, and blew the whistle on penalties, but she had such a heavy accent you couldn't understand what she was saying! she was a really good ref, like fair and everything, but man.... that lady couldn't run to save her life.

Yea, i had one who couldnt make the right call either way. He had one "slash" that had everone in my end (other team included) cracking up. He called me for illegal body check when i was clearing some a$$hole out of the crease, and then yelled at me for 30 seconds when i asked why he didnt blow the whistle when the kid stepped in (he was in there for 1-20 seconds before i hit him), even theyre coach was with me on the call. I hate refs like that.

Inhome penalty. And he could call 1 minute or 30 seconds. Also he does not have to warn your coach.

But I do feel for you, I'm sorry you had a ref like the one you describe and it does happen.

i have yet to have bad lax refs. i have had bad hockey refs, one ref was def, (def ref, def ref!) and i go to a roller hockey league with only one ref. one time i had two goals and a third clearly went in, but i didn't mind cause we blew them away. today however, he called a goal for the other team, that clearly couldn't have gone in. the kid basically shot it straight at the post, it hit, and went across the goal mouth and wide. he said it hit the inside bar, but at the angle that is totally impossible. if it had hit the inside bar it would have curved around in the back of the net, cause the bar is angeled. point is, we lost, and it sucked.

wow i had a ref saw a shot that bounced off the post of my goal and landed 20ft from the goal
he decided it was a goal and then explained to me how it crossed the goals plane.....even though it ended up 20ft from the goal....
yeh

It's possible. Unless you were standing on the goal line extended I doubt you could argue it.
