Haha. What an idiot.
This is old news but, since there was no thread, I thought it deserved one.
EDIT: Oh, and in PA you DON'T have to wear a helmet.

Yeah, the more I think about it, he was a good guy. But being a Baltimore fan, I'm hoping it takes a long time to recover.

being from pittsburgh, this was hard news to hear. i hope he recovers and comes back and gets another superbowl. Sort of a "nothing can hold me back" kinda deal.

actually they are expecting a full recovery before the season begins and expecting him out of the hospital in 3-5 days. The injuries he has are a broken jaw, broken nose, knocked out 2 teeth, lacerations to the head, sprained knees and a concussion

I was watching SportsCenter last night and and they played back these videos from a feature from last year about players who didn't wear helmets (which probably came as a result of Kellen Winslow) and he seemed so stubborn and like, "I mean, if it was the law, I'd have it on, but not having one makes you much more free."
Then they interviewed some other guys, and this former Jets DB who was WEARING a helmet, and crashed, and went into a coma for three weeks and suffered a brain injury. The Jets guy said, "My advice to him is to just get rid of his bike." Yet Ben was like, "I can make my own decisions."
Now, it's almost like, "I told you so."

Yea i completely agree, it is like a I told you so thing, and also Terry Bradshaw made comments last year about Ben riding his motorcycle, he told him to "Park it". I really think that the NFL should ban riding motorcyles because more and more people just keep getting injured on them.

I can't seem to feel too sorry for him. Helmets are definately a life or death factor, especially on a motorcycle. You'd think that a guy who uses a helmet for a sport where you aren't likely to ever have a direct impact of more that 35 mph (with combined speeds) would be smart enough to wear one when you could get hit going over 120 (combined speeds). It just doesn't factor out to me. Also I would really like to get a solid answer to his injuries. One minute they are nothing, the next I hear he will be out for years.

i would be scared to ride a motorcycle wit out a helmet. being he green bay packers fan that i am i have no bias against big ben or the steelers(in fact i rooted for them) i must say that he is a total moron. he has it all, yet he is willing to screw it all up for something as simple as not wearing a helmet. everyone says he is so smart, i think he is a total and complete idiot

these nfl organizations need to add that no motorcycling action while theyre signed
although they do have some like no dangerous activity but we see how well that has been with winslow, jay williams and now roethlisberger

It's just payback for what the Steelers did to Carson Palmer.

Who's fault was it?
I'm pretty sure it was the other person's fault. I heard somewhere that she was supposed to yield and she didn't. Roethlisberger didn't see her because he was watching for traffic coming from another direction.

Yeah that pic of the American girls is just to make us look bad. We have some of the biggest hotties in the world. . . but I want to travel South America and Europe just to hook up with exotic girls, that would be the trip of a lifetime. Who's going with me to the next world cup??? I'll bring the cologne.

It's every 4 years right? I plan on going depending on where it is. If it's in Europe I'm going.
