Releasing early from penalty

B1 is serving a 1:00 releasable penalty while A1 has possession. B1 returns to the field after 30 seconds and a flag is thrown for illegal procedure. A1 scores.

Now, obviously, the remaining 30 seconds of B1's penalty is released by the goal. Under NCAA rules, the illegal procedure flag is waved off. However, I recall that under NFHS rules that B1 was supposed to serve another 30 seconds even if a goal was scored, but I can't find that in the rulebook. Does anyone remember where this rule or situation is located?

OK, I pulled up my '05 NFHS PDF (never saw the '06 that way :sad: ), and I think this is what you are looking for, from page 38 ('05).
ART. 5 . . . Entering the game from the penalty area before authorized to do by the timekeeper. The player shall be returned to the penalty area to serve the remaining time, plus 30 seconds. If the ball is loose or in possession of the player’s own team, it shall be awarded to the opposing team and the player leaving the penalty area early does not have to serve an additional 30 seconds.
In the event that a goal is scored by the opponent, the unexpired penalty time is nullified, but the player still shall serve 30 seconds for illegal entry into the game.
