Hey! I was wondering if anyone else here has some cool pet fish or is really into fishkeeping. Right now I have a freshwater 55 gallon tank with...
*Jack Dempsy Cichlid *Lobster
*Convict Cichlid *Ropefish
*Brichardi Cichlid *Alligator Gar
*Tiretrack Eel *Pleco
*2 new fish: Auratus Cichlid and a Knight Goby
So what kind of fish do you all have? Any saltwater tank keepers?

I just bought a new 10 gal last week. I have about 8 random tetras. Too bad I don't have enough room for anything bigger cause I really like doing it. I've had 5 of my fish for 4+ years and before that I had 2 go over 7 which is quite a bit. Now that I am starting to get some more money though I might try to upgrade my collection and tank like a high quality filter, bottom lights and such. A great hobby

I caught a Yellow Perch at a local lake, Brought it home in a bucket of water, Filled up my sandbox (dimesions- 8 feet tall, 8 feet wide, 3 feet deep) with water, And the perch lived in it for like 3 months... Than the magpies caught and ate it. God i hate magpies.
edit- The sand box had no sand in it, for the record.

Yea i use to when i was younger but not anymore i had a heated salt water tank that was about 10 gallons maybe more not really sure it had a bunch of wicked cool tropical fish but when moving my older bro went to move a table with the fish tank on it and the water swished and one wall of the tank gave out. It sucked. And i had a Beta name rainbow when i was about 5 that was blue with red and yellow in it tail and it live for about 3 1/3 years so that one was pretty sick.

I don't but a friend of mine is really into it. He defanitely spends too much money into it. he's got this really cool coral though that looks like a thousand latex glove fingers with little nubs on them. The neatest thing is that that coral is transparent. Anyways, this guy loves stuff like fish, frogs, and plants. It's crazy. Personally all I've ever had were some goldfish.

my goldfish just died :crying: but im saving up to buy a big 10 gallon tank and all kinds of sweet fish.
my friend has a 10 gallon fresh water tank, a 15 gallon salt water tank, and a tank with frogs in it, he loves his fish. he once sat in his basement and watched his fish for 10 hours straight, regardless that he had a concussion

at my old house, i had a goldfish named Killer, for about a week. then one day, he was floating. It was a really powerful sermon that my dad gave as we flushed him though.
Now, i have a huge pond in my backyard, and i have bass, sunnies, and catfish in there. I catch them a lot and throw them back, but its cool to just be able to have big fish right behind my house

Well as of this morning I had:
Oscar
Convict Pink Cichlid
Blue Lobster
Irridesenct Shark
some South American Cichlid
but the Oscar became very aggresive today and attacked the Convict Cichlid which we had to isolate into some net in the tank and also the Oscar just killed the shark and began eating it. It was really out of no where, they have lived with each other for 3 months and nothing bad has happened

Now I have
- Senegal Bichir
-Severum
-Rainbow Cichlid
-Calvus
-4 Pictus catfish
-Festivum
My shark and shovelnose cat were both eaten by the senegal

yea the thing was really stupid anyway and would swim into walls and rocks. Im most surprised about the convict cichlid. Those have been known to even be aggresive towards oscars 3x their size but I guess mines a wuss

All of those tetras I had caught some kind of flea, or virus, and I lost 12 fish in the span of a week. Very depressing.
So I bought two green terrors, a male and a female, the guy at the pet store said you could keep them together in a smaller tank, and have no problems, but alas the male ended up killing the female like I thought it was going to do.
He has been living very happily since then, I could probably hand feed it if I wanted too, and it is growing at a very fast rate. Now I am saving up to get a giant tank and fill it with cichlids. They are awesome.
