bottom string tutorial (regulate way)

k this was the way i have done my bottom string on my brine truth and i love it and some one asked how did i do it so i thought id show you

here is is have at it

ok first you got you butt of you head

then you weave trought the mesh at a 10 diamond wide section

then enter the two outside holes on the thout from the out side

then go back in the iner holes

now the tricky part go throo holes 4 and 6 (if counting from the right side)
but make sure to go under the the string woven throo the mesh

then tighten it all up and it should look like this

now tie it off like this just a simpel knot (you cant tye any knot you want)

now some of you cant see how i think this way is better than the standard way well here ill show you

the way i did it the ball sits flush or below the neck plastic

the other way it stis on top of the mesh and incerses the chance of the ball falling out during one handed cradling

some of you will trll me that the standard way rocks you just need to loosen the string well no becauise loose string sucks X10= a lot of suck

Its very good, at first I thought it wasa 3 strings, so I cut my string in 3, then when I relized it was all opne, I had to use a short string, but it worked out ok, ill post a picture soon.

that's what i do except with some thick lace shooters then leave it loose so the ball can just hang low down there, good tutorial though!

So that's basically a tightened U bottom string. I do something similar to it sometimes but usually always wind up taking it out and putting a 'traditional' bottom string in.

I do something similiar to that. But, the way I do it, if you have an extremely low pocket you can get it so that the ball sags a little bit underneath the throat, making it like you have a thumb in there to hold it in, only legal (I think).

EDIT- This bottom string is kinda cool, but I like the normal U shaped bottom string best, probably just because I'm more used to it

Yeah I know the pocket is puny and I def. need to pound it. I am ball and knifing it as we speak. I usually have a bag that is barely legal. For the shaft I will make a review tomorrow I have used it. But I can already feel the difference.

i put did this on both my sticks and it's way better than the standard bottom stringing. especially if you like low pockets. I can feel the ball better while cradling. i would highly suggest this to all the low pocket lovers

yes the way i came up witht his bottom string was bacause i was looking for a way to shrink my pocket with out jumping up a row of diamonds
because then if i pull it tight its too small and to get it ware i want it ther is a gap (witch is poo)
and i came up with one simular to this and then realised i could make it better by putting the strings over the mesh and tieing it off

As one who's used to stringing custom pockets and trying to perfect mesh schemes, I have always struggled with the bottom string. I just tried your method on a Kannon with soft American Jima Mesh. Works like a champ, no conflicting tension, it accomodates the ball, the ball sits back unemcumbered and ready...no gaping holes, a legal base. This is just what the doctor ordered! Simple yet innovative...thank you, I'm glad I found your thread!

Look at the underlines numbers, which represent the unused holes on each side. There's three on one side an four on the other. This is what you call uneven.

It you were to do this bottom string on a 9 row, wouldn't it work better and be even? Or if you went through 4 and 7, it would be even as well.

Not if you do it on the mesh where there is 9 diamonds instead of 10 you know.

what does this do to the pocket. from what i guess it just pulls it really tight so instead of cdoubling up less and having a longer or looser bottom string you double up more and have a tighter bottom string, correct?

awesome tut dude. i tried it out bout a couple mins ago and i luv it. the ball sits at the back of the pocket and down instead of at the top. good for me cuz i do a lot of one handed cradling. good job... great tut..... awesome idea

it would be impossible to have it with a high pocket if you mean like womens lacrosse high pocket. if you mean like a mid pocket-high pocket maybe. you would have to have some kind of a pocket

If you keep the bottom string tight, there is no reason why it shouldn't hold a high pocket.
