Both NFHS:

(1) Goalie B1 is out of the crease and throws a clearing pass. Attackman A1 comes in from about 10 yards away—the ball is now around midfield—and cross-checks B1 in the back, flag down. When the ball ends up on the ground, I signal in a 3:00 NR USC penalty on A1. He immediately yells "He turned!" I hit him for a conduct foul and wondered if I should have just ejected him for the blatant cheap shot in the first place.

(2) Between periods, B1 has an illegal crosse, 3:00 NR penalty. During the ensuing play, defenseman B2 hooks his crosse around A1, away from the ball, and drags him to the ground by his neck, which I called a slash. Team B gets the ball, then loses it, and well after A2 throws a clearing pass, B3 cross checks A2 to the ground. Then Coach A gets a USC.

Now, we're getting ready to restart play, and I haven't given the all-clear signal yet when my partner blows the whistle. I realize that team B has 3 defenders plus their goalie on the field when they should have only 2 defenders; Coach B is unaware that there's no stacking rule in NFHS. I kill the play, intending to get the field right and not intending to penalize team B for too many men, when B5 takes 3 or 4 steps after the whistle and body checks A3 during the dead ball. If you're counting, that means you realize team B has 5 men in the box and is facing a 1-on-6 penalty kill. That's a record for men in the box at one time, as far as I've seen, but I talked to another official who had a similar situation this season.

NFHS Rules:

1st Quarter 20 seconds left A1 body checks B1. Right as I blow the whistle to end 1st quarter A2 body checks B2. Than I grab A3' stick. Illegal stick 3 minutes NR. Now I have 3 men in box. Team B with ball and they never scored on all these penalities.
