[Tutorial] 6 diamond

You will need:
1, 6d peaice of mesh
2, 36in. top/shooting strings
2, 26in. sidewall strings
1, 10in, botom string
2, 26in, shooting laces

Top String
1. fold the mesh so there are 6 diamonds acrosse on top.

2. pull the top string through the highest sidewall hole and tie a hitch knot to connect the mesh to the sidewall. make this knot as tight as possible.

3. connect the mesh to the scoop the way shown in the picture. you can use any way of connecting the mesh but i find this is the best way. you can also use any type of string for this part.

4. continue to the next hole using the same knot. this shows how to connect the mesh to the scoop.

5. Tighten the string and continue to the next holes.

6. When you get to the other side of the head, bring the string through the first (highest hole) and back and up to the outside of the string. Then tie a tight hitch knot to finish the topstring.

Sidewalls
1. make another hitch knot like the topstring, and connect it to the sidewall.

2. bring the sidewall string through the next diamond, and then through the back of the sidewall hole. continue this down the sidewall.

3.Tighten the sidewall string and stop before the last 2 holes.

4.Bring the string through the outside of the last sidewall hole. then bring it out through second to last sidewall hole. Then tighten and simply make a knot.

Botom String
1. Chose which row of diamonds you want for the botom string. I use the row with 5 diamonds but some heads may different so you may need a different row of diamonds.

2. Start with a biger knot, hitch, figure 8, any. Pull the string though the first hole. then pull the string through the first diamond.

3. Skip a diamond and pull the string through the middle diamond and back through the second hole. Bring the string through the third hole and back up through the middle diamond again.

4. Now skip a diamond and and bring the string down through the last diamond in the row and tigh a large knot.

Shooting Strings
1. The first shooting string i use is the 36in. top/shooting string. pull it through the second hole without tighing a knot. Leave about 6-8 extra when pulling the string through the first hole. pull the string acrosse the pocket and start to roll the nylon shooter.

2. tigh a knot bye making a half squar knot and then a regular sidewall knot with both strings.

3. now get your two 26in. shooting laces and weave them through the row with 6 diamonds.

remember that shooting string are preference. This is just how i do mine, you may do yours different.

you can get good whip with any mesh. its how you string the sidewalls. but i do use 6d for all my high whip pockets, it does require serious pounding cause it is really hard and thick. a pocket screw works very well.

Great tutorial, it turns out very well on any head. It is good to note that it is difficult to get a tight hitchknot on the end of the sidewall. I simply used a double knot to hold it, like regular. The bottom string works excellently. Overall, very detailed and good.

i read the thread you made, so i know you have stringing experience. how would you normally tie off a sidewall? just do it that way. as long as the knot doesnt come undone, anything will do.

well tieing off a sidewall is only with 1 string so i dunno how to relate this and tieing off a sidewall. but i start my sidewalls off with a hitch knot and end them with a figure 8. neither of which can be done with two strings to my knowledge.
