Music during practice.

I was wondering if any other coachs let their kids play music during practice. I know we play some music during pactice for our summer league.

On occasional saturday practices we would play some music out of someone's car speakers. Made it go by a bit quicker.

We used to be able to and then somebody played an unedited version of a song... Apparently that is not allowed.

Yes, I allow it. Learned it from a soccer coach. Useful during the drill section of practices, not when at teaching moments or during scrimmages. Gotta be upbeat. Point is to make the drills a bit crisper with lively music. No rap, that slows bodies down.

When we practiced at this one field two years ago we would pull our cars down right nest to the field and take turns playing music from our cars. We'd take turns so no one's battery ran out. All my team does is scrimmage at practice, so that's probably easier to accomodate loud tunes. Rage Against the Machine on full volume can turn just about anyone into an all star laxer.

My coach plays the music he likes at practice, so we end up "hating the music". He also plays the music during the games, so we get used to it and were not distracted by it, and when we hear it we get mean. We don't really get mean, and we don't really care about it, but we have to throw him a bone every now and then.

i play box and sometimes we hook up a stereo to the microphone and let the tunes blast. it's great in an empty arena

i burned a cd with about 70 minutes of random bag pipe music, and we play if over the PA system at our field when we practice.

I think playing music during practice is a great idea, it would make for a better practice.
