as you might not all know, down here lacrosse is going to be a full championship sport next season. but this year the state championship was between lassiter HS and lovett HS. although i did not go to this game because i expected a blowout by lassiter, i was suprised to hear that the game ended in a TIE!! the state finals ended in a tie. so now every time i see anything lacrosse related it refers to the co-state champions... does this seem like total :bs to anyone else? i mean i hate those lassiter highlighter loving creeps as much as anyone else, but seriously how can you have co-champions?!

thats how most states do it...maryland has regulation overtimes then they are named co-champions...

then that is just straight up stupid

why in the world is there no OT

i'd schedule a seperate game somewhere else to settle it, because this would bother me to no end

yeah, it's almost the same way soccer does it too. a few years ago, brookwood and parkview were co-champs after 2 OT's. it's kinda bs, but there's a reason they have it... it's because of an inceident that happened a while back in pennsylvania, i believe. it's kinda a touchy subject, but if you really want to know why, pm me... im not gonna post it on here.

Clearly Lovett had more momentum by the end of the game... I have a feeling their offense would have just continued to create more opportunities...

by the way... is anyone from Georgia on here actually playing for a varsity team?

hey man, dont even start the whole georgia lax isnt all it's cracked up to be thing again... every high school sport in georgia is like that... technically, almost every sport in georgia (with the exception being head to head sports like cross country and swimmig) could have co-champs.

ccboy... i doubt you play for any kind of decent team anyways so it doesnt really matter.

this is a GHSA reulation so dont blame it on the refs.
as someone said beofre a very unfortunate incident happend a few years ago in GA. due to this he GHSA ruled that there would no longer be any overtimes in championship games in any sport.
what was really interesting was that both the girls and the guys tied. there is already a petition in motion to overthrow this rule for next year, and it will fly through the motions.

as far as the game, lassiter was purely out coached in both the semis and finals, however in the semis they managed to hold on, but in the late stages of the finals they could not.

Ya seriously the first post bout Kell going from like 7-5 from a JV team to state champions??? someone please hit that kid. But the state champion game was great lassiter needed a smack in the face cause they were all real ****y, at least lovette, when they beat u they were nice about it, they deserved it more but a tie is good too.

yeah, and thank god for Ga actually getting into a championship status for this sport, it's stupid that they haven't before. but McEachern has had students trying to get a team, and finally they let us have it... but this year is gonna def. be different since its actually sanctioned... so technically, lassiter hasn't even won a state championship... but they still will be fearsome this year to be assured.

Anyone want to get a normal Georgia post going here with scores and highlights and scouting reports? I play on Varsity for Walton. We play Kell on Wednesday. Don't take our performance against Roswell as to what kind of team we are because every single person on our team played horrible and after that score it seems unlikely, but if we played well and smart like we can. We could have given them a great game if not beat them

Damn Collins Hill and their no lacrosse-ness. I went to that game last year, great game. Whoever that number 11(I think Nick Smith?) on Lovett is, he's amazing.
