So we all know how lax.com gives you points when you order stuff, and then with those points you can get free stuff using them... Is it just me or did the points needed to get stuff raise a lot? For example it's now 702 points for an unstrung Revo Pro...

Ouch 702, thats a lot.

probably because eventually alot of people got alot of reward points and started getting alot of stuff for free. therefore, reward point inflation.

I figured it out a while ago. It turned out that 6 points was equal to 1 dollar. In the last few months, the value of a lax.com has obviously decreased.

to me it seems like the points go hand and hand with the price and the price goes hand and hand with the demand of the equipment so yea. thats how i thought of it

Great Atlantic has done the same thing. I purchased about $400 of stuff from them recently and only got 44 points on my Club lax thing. It's really not a deal at all. I mean, I can't even get a t-shirt with that.

It went up exactly 50%.

It used to be 6 reward points to the dollar, now it's 9 reward points to the dollar.

Your right, that sucks! I have a 108 points and I was going to get the 1-year subscription to LAX Magazine for free, but now I need another 60 points? That's terrible! Oh well, I guess I'll just pay the $18.

So who wants to be really cool and ask for the official reason as to why they did it and beg them to change it back?

PBlax

It's actually 9, exactly.

I mean, you could ask them why it was raised, but I doubt you'd get a real answer, other than "we realized that we could no longer keep it at that kind of a level."

Think about it like this, this is actually still a way better reward than any other company offers. $6 spent to get one dollar back was ridiculous, and $9 to get $1 back is STILL an amazing reward value.

Just for comparison:

Best Buy's Reward Zone, currently, is $150 spent for a $5 reward. That's 30:1 ratio. That's WAY higher than lax.com. in fact, best Buy is raizing it to $250 for a $5 reward, which is 50:1. Suddenly 9:1 doesn't sound so bad, huh?

Dick's Sporting Goods' Score Card is $300 to get a $10 reward. Again, that's a 30:1 ratio.

If you think about it, the return value is still great. Be glad it's still here.

Now, the only thing these other programs have over lax.com is that they can be used to subtract from the cost of an item, whereas you have to have the whole value of an item at lax.com and can only get it free, not discounted.

Now, if you could take, say, $20 off your orders with your 180 reward points, this would be perfect.

Yes, But that is best buy. Products can get into the thousands easily, lax.com is insanely high to spend more than 300 dollars.

not trying to hijack this or anything but what is the ratio for lacrosse.com/great atlantic

To answer this question, sorry for bumping an old topic, but the regular exhange for Great Atlantic, excluding Double Dips, is 1 point for every $10 spent, and 3 points for $1 credit.

What does that means? That means it's $30 spent to get $1 back. That's quite a lot, don'tcha think? Once again, lax.com is still only $9 to get $1 back, so it's still more than 3 times better.

So yeah, Best Buy products do get into the thousands, but the exchange for GA is just the same of Best Buy, which means that lax.com is still by far the best lax store in terms of rewards. Hardly "garbage".
