I ahve searched and found threads about the shooting strings on 6d but noone really explains the pros/cons of the different types.

***Last night I completed my first stringing job and after a slow start figuring out how to do a damn hitch knot ... it turned out pretty good. better than I expected (i will post pics tonight, if anyone cares).***

So far I have seen wrapped reccommended and weaved reccomended. My 10d has weaved but I dont think it would be as effective on the 6d. I am going to use 2-3 straight shooters and a "U" or "V" ... not sure.

I know the aesthetic differences between the different ones but could someone please explain what the shooters do, how the different method (weaved/wrapped) work, and what the benefits of a "U" or "V" are.

btw ... i know this is a basic question but I haven't been able to find anything on here explain the basics of shooting strings so that I can mold my preference. thx for any help.

and thx to guy who wrote the 6d tutorial ...

Rooled and weaved shooters pretty much do the same, theres no diffrence just witch you like better. When i strun up my 6d i weaved the shooters and it came out just fine..although i hate big dimonds and will never buy 6d agian

Yeah for the 6d do weaved, rolled just looks sik on them, 10d do rolled, a lot cleaner.

yea, its hard to get rolled to look good on 6D so I would just do the woven. Also, I would go with one or two straight and a U

The advantage of rolled shooters is that they are easier to adjust (make tighter or looser).

I'd suggest using V shooters over U shooters, because in the 6 diamond pockets I've strung U's always add a ton of unwanted whip to my pocket.
