I was wondering if there were any specific exercises (besides just doing dips and pull-ups) I could do to increase the amount of dips and pull-ups I can do. I can do about 4 pull-ups with very good form (not swinging, coming up all the way) and I would like that number to go up to 15 by the end of summer. I can do about 4 dips also, with the same very good form, and I would like that number up to 15 or so in the same time period. As you can see my upper body needs some help. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Trying doing sets of negatives or find a machine that can lessen your bodyweight (forgot what they're called).

get a bench or crate or something underneath ... you can either spot yourself with your feet for the last couple .... or do negatives like cbury said ... stand up to the top position and the pick your feet up .. letting yourself down slowly (like a 4 count)

The way I got better at doing pullups was to set a goal (in my case 50) and then do them even if it meant resting after each one. I did this once a week during my back workouts, it took me maybe 2 months to get to 5 sets of 10, when I started I was only able to do 5 or 6 for the first set.

Do you have a gravitron at your gym? i think thats what Cburylax is thinking of.

isn't a gravitron a carnival ride?

well anyways, just general upper body excersizes will help with it, I could do 3 tips and 6 pull ups when I started lifting weights a month ago, I can do about 15 dips and 20 or so chin ups

gravitron is the name of a specific weight assisted pull-up/dip machine, cybex, nautilus and probably others make versions.
