Refer to the name of this topic. But im a first year 7th grader. Do you think it'd be too early for me to get a GForce?

deffinatley. gforce sucks arse for d. don't get it. way to pinched and you'll knock no passes down.

lol. sticks don't make the player. players make the stick. remember that. it wasn't the stick that made you, you made it.

...is that kinda psychological?
You're probably gonna benefit from a wider head. I think the wizard is the best head for D, but its all preference.

I really didn't have a choice on the Hype, but it's been good to me. A 2" deep sidewalls are really nice for cradleing because I really suck. (lol)

alrite, you'd be just as good with a shot gun that game as you were with the gstring. oops, g force. both very narrow

i love when d men use a fuse or something that hurts their game. They just want to have a top of the line stick, even if it is narrow and flimsy.

mhmm... yall... i disagree. many of the defenders here and all the LSMs use gforces because it is that much harder for the ball to be knocked out of the pole.. and knocking down passes... its called practice... one inch isnt going to make that huge of a difference. i say use the gforce, it will help you learn to catch much quicker despite what people say. its a mental thing.. you will probably drop more passes at the beginning due to it, but rather quickly you will puch yourself much harder to catch better than if you had an edge. my first stick was an oz that an elder player gave to me. but the thing is.. it was piched uber-tight.. like the same or maybe more so than a gforce. now i catch better than most the team for it and can concentrate on other things now. i say keep it, and use it as a pyschological tool to make yourself better.

WIZARD is the best D head out there, super strong ive heard of only a couple breaking. They arent too wide but arent too narrow. It is just the best D head out there i highly recomend it.

What about Bionic and Torque?

torque is light so it might help but dont know about its durability, and the bionic is pretty heavy but durable.
A gforce i heard helps out at D becuase of the spikes, but id say the best d head is either an x2 or a wizard. (if you can find an x2)

yea DO NOT get one for dfense i dont play but i know that you dont want to much pinch when playing D and the g force is one of the more pinched heads out there. Its also hard for beggeners to get used to really pinched heads right off the bat.

I use the g-force. might not recommend to a first year unless you have good stick skills. i have probably the 2nd best stick skills on the team second only to one of are attackman so it was the right head for me. It is strong and i dont knock passes down i intercept passes and go the other way. And when I get the ball your screwed cuz your not getting it until i pass it. Also it has a nice stiffness to it and a very nice scoop that i love so for me it is a perfect defensive head. It all depends on the skill level you have you can get one and practice with it and when your comfortable using it GO AHEAD!

they should introduce a more unpinched g-force, it's strong and rigid, and the teeth help for d, but the pinch turns people away from it. oh well, I'm sure if it was profitable it would have happened.

that is a good idea I mean i think people would buy it but a lot of people buy the stick because of it's factory pinch which mite sound dumb but they could just unpinch the head.

I use to use a G-Force for D and I really liked it but I recently got a Triton and have found no negatives with it, so the G-Force is great but personally I like the triton.

I use a bionic, and it works good for what I need it to do. Usually though defensemen arent handling the ball a lot, usually only enough to clear it or toss it to your goalie. Its not like we're rolling and dodging people, so you shouldnt worry too much about the head, unless its flimsy and weak. Knocking down passes is a good feeling though, so dont pinch the head too much.
What did I just say? lol

G-force is a sweet head, I just wish it was legal for box. If Gait ever makes the same head without the teeth, I'll buy it.
See our governing bodies realized that you can file down the teeth, sharpening them into little razors. These can be used to peel opponents' legs.
Now that I've told you why the G is banned in Canada, don't any of you try and do this ;-)

bionic is definately a good head as long as you are willing to trade weight for strength. torque looks a little bendy to me but i have never used one
whatever happened to the triton? the vapor is nice too. both are light, strong, not so expensive. i love the triton. and you don't have to be a certain level to use a head. i mean, i only started getting better after i switched from an stx spirt to a cyber. but the triton rocks. rocks hard. and the g-force sucks.
