Im a middie thats new at faceoffs but i like it and i wanna get good at it. I started out Motorcycle (or double over) but ever1 is telling me to switch over to traditional one hand over one under. should i switch? which one is better? any tips?

It's all with what you feel comfortable with. Generally, strong clampers will use the motorcycle grip, because it allows for fast and stronger clamp. If your going to be jumping a lot, the traditional stance might be the way to go.

Basically, it's all preference. I prefer to do the flipgrip, because I like to jump. But I will also switch it up every once in a while and do a motorcycle grip. So just try it both ways, and whichever way you are more confortable with/win the most with, use in games. You should practice both ways though.

i do traditional no matter what...clamp, jump, punch, wtv.
wtv. you decide on, make sure you do the handlebar/traditional for everything because if you do the handlebar for clamp and traditional for other one's your opponent will be able to easily guess what move you're going to do and counter-move.

do what feels best i leaned on the flip grip but now i live by the moto grip
as for other players knowing your move (me me the clamp) if you are strong and fast enough it wont matter what they do

i go trad grip because i can pul several moves and adjust on the fly. its much harder to pull a fast break move or a counter from the moto.

I think it's easier to go up against someone with moto-grip because you just have to tell your wingmen to try and beat their men to the middle of the field. If you use motorcycle you have to adjust to scoop it so I can just sit back and go for the ground ball.

exactly the point i was going to make... the regular grip is easier to do all of the other moves. also when i go up against someone using the motorcycle grip i know that they are going to try and clamp, which leads to me doing a hop and easily beating them. just take my advice and dont get into the bad habit of the motorcycle grip. its not good.

welll....the greatest faceoff specialist of all time (Paul Cantabene) did the motorcycle grip...so it can't be all bad.
(i do the traditional)

actually i hardly ever clamped. when i did moto grip i had more leverage and more power to counter the clamp and stuff plus u get more torque when u clamp its all about how u place ur hands...but yeah there was a lot of controversy thats why i set up this thread.
