Jim Wygonik, now former coach of the Daniel Hand H.S., has chosen to resign (at the behest of the superintendent of schools I am sure) for taking a swing at another coach in the state championship game. Even if a game is tense and spirits are high, there is absolutely no call for an adult to behave in such a manner, especially in front of the players and parents. Even if he was "provoked" by taunting, the coach could have addressed the matter with the referrees or security officials that should have been present.

He deserved to be fired. Their should never be any fighting on a lacrosse field by players or in this case coaches.

What an idiout! I don't care how important the game is, as a coach you should never do anything you wouldn't want your players doing. Plus this game should have been for his players, not himself. In my opinion he deserved to get fired or "resigned".
