View Full Version : Recruiting in NJ
This year, I'm going into my freshman year and am interested in starting the "recruiting process" and "getting my name out". I would like to know any showcases in NJ, how to get in them, and where they are. Preferablly, they would be in North Jersey (like around Wayne and Turf City), but anywhere is fine. Sorry if a topic like this has been already created.

Your going into your freshman year of highschool? Well if you are, your kind of wasting your time because coaches can't contact you until after your junior season. So, unless you have a last name of "Powell" or "Gait" you might be overlooked.
well i was thinking more of the lines of getting seen rather than fully recruited.

Well If I were you and since Im older so I dont have the chance again, Instead of trying to get "noticed" as a freshman. Work your butt off to get better. SInce I dont know how good you are this advice might not be much help. But the good thing about lacrosse is that theres always something you need to improve on. So instead of getting noticed right now, work really hard, just go to a wall everyday and work on left or righty, stay in shape, work out, so that when you are a junior an senior you will be much faster and stronger.

Actually they can contact you your juniour year. NCAA requirments state that they cant start scouting/contacting until end of your sophmore year

my advice is if you want to go2 a college that is local become friendly with some of their lacrosse players and they will talk to their coaches.
I get lessons from a bunch guys on Princeton's Varsity team and Club team but i dont have a shot in the world of playing at princeton :p.
