It apears that Team Mammoth is a psuedo Team Canada, but mnay of these guys are active MLL players.

I thouhgt the MLL had rules about playing lacrosse outside of the MLL game during the season...

Anyone know??

the mll is going on a break for the international games, so i assume warrior is letting them play. vail? what does that have to do with it?

Like one of the biggest most well known tournaments of the summer. I assuming you meant the MLL is letting them play, not Warrior.

You might be interested to know that AJ Shannon, Brodie Merrill, John Grant ?and other? Team Canada MLL players were playing Senior box laX as well as MLL this summer.

Either:
-the MLL doesn't know (given how they run some things, this is technically possible), or,
-the MLL doesn't care.

The second is more likely. My thinking is that if they don't care about Senior box, why would they care about a club level field tournament in Vail?

The big question with Team Mammoth was whether the NLL would let them play, but apparently they did. I don't think MLL cared or knew.

Considering it's the NLL's offseason I doubt they would have any grounds for action, as it's never uncommon for Pros to bounce around tournies (my experience against Black Banana at last year's Laxtoberfest proves that) when not in season. If some/most of these guys are deactivated for the all-star/world games break, then the MLL knows and has yet to take action or is allowing them to play under penalty tp contracts should they get injured.

I just got home from officiating the Vail men's elite and, from what i understand, the Mammoth petitioned the MLL to allow Canadian players to play in Vail on the grounds that this was Team Canada's exhibition and that Team USA was using MLL players and playing exhibition games around the country....petition granted....

BTW, the Mammoth (Team Canada), after a competitive first half, blew away Team Go Fast 17-6 (or something like that)......

That's an interesting find and good use of a loop-hole (I'm taking the leap that is in fact a loop-hole in MLL policy) so in fact not to create a double-standard for US players being allowed to play exhibition matches.

That makes sense, and is fair. NHL doesntjust let the Americans go play in the olympics...any player for any country can go play...thats the way it should be here.
Id be interested to find out about other teams besides the big two...to see if they were able to play with their teams...

BTW Team Mammoth is suppose to be the test team for NLL outdoor league.
