Who do u think will be the ncaa mens lacrosse champs of 2007?
I'm betting syracuse because just look st their talent and they're all going to be sophmores.

Who do u think it will be?

Im gonna agree with you, Syracuse does have some good talent, a lot of the good teams this year had a lot of seniors.

I have told everyone JHU will come away with it, too much returning talent.
PS Towson will be the dark horse

Cuse or hopkins is my bet, im rootin for cuse though haha. D3 i think Salisbury is pissed about losing this year, they'll come back with no mercy and just flat out win. my 2 cents.

I really hope it's 'Cuse. They are going to need to sep it up though on d and in the cage (Collucini was terrible last year) in order to come close. Bucktooth, Yevoli and Crockett are going to be hard to replace, but its definately possible with Nims, Perritt, Hardy and Leveille on the offensive end with a good year of experience under their belts. Also, if the Bucktooth coming to Cuse this season is as good on defense as Brett was on offense, we should be pretty set.

Virginia and Hopkins should still be real good though, and I can sense a huge year from Princeton also, with 9 of their top 10 point recievers returning.

whos going to win: hopkins

Laxmann019
07-05-2006, 11:04 AM
i still think cuse'. if their defence improves then they're pretty much unstoppable with their sophmores on offense. The only weakness I see is goalie. one good thing about losing to virginia was that everyone on the team now has experience in the tourney

fenderstrat3578
07-05-2006, 11:46 AM
Princeton will be really good, Syracuse will be good but I have trouble believing that they will come away with it. Virginia, even though they graduate Culver Poskay Dixon Ward and more, still return Kip Turner, lots of defensemen, many middies, as well as Rubeor and Glading, are still going to be great. Duke will be good, and will have an actual chance this year (but they still couldn't have taken down UVA this year)

I say final 4 is UVA, Princeton, Duke, Syracuse

Finals: UVA vs Princeton

UVA on top.

SouthJerzylax22

Princeton will be pretty good. But I think Towson will definitly give teams a run.

Laxmann019
07-05-2006, 12:21 PM
what do you guys think about D2 champs?
my bet is lemoyne just look at the talent of that team and their record over the last 3 yrs.
what's your opinion

I'd like at least the summer to be over and fall ball to be underway before we all give opinions on next year's champs.

07-05-2006, 12:28 PM
Even though UVA is losing a lot of starters, Turner and Gladding are still their so I thinK UVA could Still go really far this season but I dont think they'll win again

BUT!! I hope Navy will atleast make it past the first round of the playoffs...screw georgetown!! :hot:

So I want Navy UVA or Notre Dame (even though UVA beat them) to win.
I think duke has a chance but wont make it all the way...

'Cuse, or Princeton most likely

EDIT- I mean, Navy has Ian Dingman AND Kryptic so there is no way they'll lose in the first round!!

i believe UVA can do it again(could be more of a want), but if you think about it. They could be serious good, there attack, might be better next year, Kip is still here. I think it could happen

Gaib
07-07-2006, 08:51 PM
I'll change things up and go for Cornell...what can I say, I'm biased. But with McMonagle in cage, Pittard and Mitchell leading the attack, and a future (or current, depending on your point of view) star in Seibald at midfield, they've got a really good base coming back.

one question. what was his save percentage? only about .500. like I said the defense protects him pretty good

bellairelax
07-09-2006, 04:08 PM
yeah hofstra had a good run this year but they only have dooley and ianucci back. Unterstein was the qb of that offense and since hes gone the offense won't be as good. I like princeton to make a run for it they return a lot of people. I think Hopkins will come close to with the incoming class they have.

cougarlax21
07-09-2006, 04:12 PM
Hofstra might be losing a lot of talent but they also have a chance of picking up Danowski from Duke and they will get a lot of recruits.

Think about the quality of players he was competing agaisnt. You can't say a goalie isn't that good because his D is top notch.

there were only about 30 shots on goal thats because defense and the defense can make someone take a bad shot which is a easy save

07-09-2006, 05:57 PM
I'm going to take Princeton, and I wouldn't be surprised to see Delaware over Hofstra in the CAA. Princeton's got a ton of young talent and Coco and Hewit on defense. Delawares got their starting goalie back (I think) and Alex Smith, although I remember reading that Smith is losing his faceoff wingmates. Syracuse is looking good but someones going to have to take Bucktooth's role as a leader. I think they've got the talent, but someones going to have to step up like Bucktooth did this year. Duke should come back with a vengeance (sp?) and Georgetown looks solid as always. Everything looks wide open to me.

Midman03
07-09-2006, 07:17 PM
i think 'cuse is going to take the championship next year. GO 'CUSE!!!

sirlaxalot125
07-09-2006, 07:55 PM
I think 'cuse, Duke, JHU, Princeton are the final four.

JHU and Cuse have a lot of returning talent

Duke still has that scary transiton offense that led them to the 2005 finals

Princeton still has a roster full of talent

I want JHU to win

I think Cuse will win

dukes not happening. if i understand their whole deal i think the acc is leaving them behind for the '07 season.

princeton is going to be the number one contender. most of their d is back. josh lesko has blumed into an offensive threat. and most of their o has returned. and not to mention alex hewitt. the kid will be the wall of '07 and on.

07-10-2006, 02:49 PM
I'm not makin' any calls here, its still way to early, but no mention of finalist UMass? I mean, I know they lost reid and morris, but still, I don't see them having a letdown next season, especially not with Doc Schnider (sp?) back in the goal. I also believe Duke will have a good season coming back, with all the players that are still there still feeling robbed of a season and a great shot at a championship. All the traditional powerhouses also have great chances, especially defending champ UVa, riding the great young talent of Glading and Billings and solid goalie Kip Turner.

Princeton. Their young team has finally matured and they are going to be tough to beat. Well I hope Cuse wins it in the spring of 08 cuz I might go to cuse for College and that would be awesome to see as a freshman.

but I think Hopkins and Cuse will be the strongest, and watch out for towson.

Also it will be fun to see If Denver will have a good season, I have a feeling that theyll get better thru out the years.

On that note, it is too early to make a pick really, but just looking at personnel... Cuse can make it, Princeton can make it, Navy has a chance, Hopkins is always a threat, but I think that this year showed us that we have to stop just looking at "the big guys"

You can pick who you want, but half the posts are on a Syracuse team that lost to Hobart last year and is now gonn a be down Bucktooth and Yevoli. They'll be lucky to advance past the first round of the tourney that we all know they'll make.

Hmmm. I don't believe I've posted here yet. I'd have to say UVA, but then after going to Navy camp, I believe they will probably come very close, if not win it. With people like Nick Mirabito and Geoff Leone AKA Matt Damon (look for yourself http://navysports.cstv.com/sports/m-lacros/mtt/leone_geoff00.html ...er..he looks more like Matt Damon in person) but anyways, they should do very well.

My final four is:

Princeton: A solid D backed up by Hewit, with Trombino and Sowanick leading the attack and the duo of Kovler and Lesko at midfield. Offense should be better and more consistent than in '06.

Georgetown: Solid D as always with what looks to be a great recruiting class. THey should definitely be up there.

Virginia:They lost a lot of talent but with Rubeor, Glading and Billings they should still have the best attack unit in the nation. They also have a lot of up and coming talent in the midfield, lead by Thompson. With Kip in goal, and with Smith and Kelly returning on D, they should be as solid as ever.

JHU: They've got so much returning talent, definitely in.

Virginia wins it all.

i say the D1 crown will go to the Vermont Catamounts! NOT! Just a little rooting for my hometown team. I really think either Hop, Duke, or G-town with that awesome recruiting class.
