Hey guys i was noticing at camp that i have most of the fundamentals down like craddling, catching, and throwing the basic stuff and have a few dodges down, but when we have a scrim at the end i don't do so well, i was wondering if in practicing the basic stuff will come natural on the field if i practice them enough? and what can i do to help my playing in a game, would you recommend buying a goal or anything like that?

The best way to get better is to play more games. Soon everything becomes fluid and more instinctual(sp). But buying a goal is a good idea, set it up in a feild or something and then practice practice practice all the different shots you know.

if you have access to a brick wall anywhere, that would probably be the best way to develop your off hand, or just play catch with a buddy

Yep i've been doing some wallball and seems like it's helping me, i mean i'm doing better with my left hand now but still needs a bit of work so i'll keep working on that.

Yeah, wallball is great. I have a park by my house with a huge backboard.
Helps me a lot

You say you have problems with your dodges in a game, so go home and practice them at game speed.

Practice everything at game speed. Also, when practicing shooting make sure you do it on the run, because I maybe see one or two stationary shots a game. Also, like they said before, a lotta wall ball. (When I practiced my off hand I did it infront of a mirror without a ball, just so I could get the motion to match that of my right hand. I did it over and over until it became muscle memory, then moved it to the wall.) And always have a stick in your hand when at home, performance on the field is directly related to skill and confort level while playing. Good Luck!
