Black and white, natural and artificial, beauty and...uglyness.

Just throwing some out there.

Edit-So you added a poll. I like physical and phycological the best. :read:

im not sure but i put electron and proton because we learnt that one is positive energy and one is negative, tell me if im wrong

I dont htink any of those really hit the right meaning behind ying and yang. I think its more to the point of life-death, because they define each other. I forgot everything i learned in TOK.

i'm going with proton-neutron....although they possess inehrently opposite energies to one another, it's those opposing forces that allow them to function together as one whole, and thereby allowing the existence of matter and the universe

I think that Proton and Electron/Time and Space are the best example. The proton/electron one has already been explained pretty well. I think Space and Time because they are both directly related to eachother. With time there has to be space/matter. If there is matter there has to be time. It is kind of like a never ending cycle. Like in the universe there would be no time if there was simply nothing, and if there was no time, nothing could exist. Get it? :nut:
Although all examples up there are pretty good, I think that space and time is the best, even though some people may not understand my logic behind it because I can't really explain it that well. :dummy:

no your absoulutly right space acts within 3 dimensions(sp) length width and hight(sp). this creates matter which affects everything within the boundrys of time or the 4rth dimension. its complicated but you cant have one without the other...

but yin and yang are not merely to opposites that need eachother to exist its more like they grow and show that both are equal in ballance so that why i say you need better examples than just opposties that need eachother however i picked physilogical and psycological merely because they seemed the most yin and yang like mind and body must work together to grow and achive balance and wholeness in life along with them being like opposites...

i forget were i herd that

I think Intuition, Logic because Yin and Yang is basically the co-existance of two sides of a conscience...so I kinda think Intuition, Logic are two sides of consciousness (excuse my spelling)

Actually, try male and female. thats a real good comparison, and i think its close to what the ying and yang mean.

yeah, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ying-yang
masculine and feminine, they also give some other ones

P.S. i love wikipedia

Masculine and femenine.
Thats what i percieve it as.

Its just like the sacred bond of male and female....or something like that.

I like Intuition and Logic. Why?

Because when you talk about Yin anf Yang you're talking about two forces, ideas, whatever that are complementary, but are also opposite.

Intuition and Logic are complementary in the sense that they're both used to form some sort of decision, but are opposite in methodology. I mean, logic is definite and calculated, whereas intuition is indefinite.
