hey i'm working on that now, what i do is practice the form and then try it with a ball and it works, wallball is really helping me a lot also there.

ok thanks, i think the main source of my messed up form is because of a sprained and fractured right wrist (i did it may 27 and it still is hurting). i think i might be compensating by using a different wrist motion when i throw

wall ball lots and lots of wall ball. Try to watch how your body moves righty then mimic it lefty, it takes a few tries but after a while youll get it.

what i'm doing right now in wall ball is 5 shots lefty without dropping it then go to righty and if you drop it you have to start over, seems to be working pretty well for me here.

you have to have the same motion before u play wallball. practice the smae motion before u play wall ball because if u play wallball n u dont have the right motion then it doesn't matter how much u do it u will be doing it wrong. make sure your motion is exactly the same as your strong hand. thats what the cuse coach told me.

Absolutely it works. I tell all my young players to get in front of a mirror, watch how the strong side throws, then go to the weak side and mimic what your strong side did. Just practice the motion (without a ball or you need to buy a new mirror) over and over. By the way, mirror is also good to practice split dodges and ensuring that when you cradle one-handed the stick is vertical and close to your ear.

the quickest way to see results is to play wall ball one handed.. you will let the ball roll out of the pocket instead of pushing it out..

Golden Advice! Helped me a ton when I first started!
Here's a true story that happened today.
I was trying to get my friend into lacrosse and we had been playing catch for a couple days before but he was only using his right hand. Today I told him to work on lefty. After a couple throws he was wayyyyyy off and his form was terrible. So I had him do throws with no ball and tryed to correct his form. It got a little better. So we played catch with our off hands more, didnt help much at all. Then I remembered 1 hand throws. After 10 throws he started moving his elbow away and getting extension. This improved him alot. Then after 5 more minutes he really started getting it down. After a while we could play catch with minimal bad passes and dropped passes. It was amazing! He still is awkward with both right and left, but in just a day his off hand improved soooo much.

what my coach told me to do was to , in the middle of a strong hand throw, freeze and try and copy that form on the weak side. and i can throw dimes from both sides now with ease. lol

watch yourself throw righty in the mirror(without a ball of course), and then try to do EXACTLY the same thing lefty. if its not completely symmetrical, change it so it is. just sit there and get the motion down right...

Hit the wall. If you do 100 right, then do 100 left, I do this usually around 5 times a day. It really helps work the left hand. The only thing you can do is practice. It'll take awhile but the results will be visible and you'll be satisfied after around 3 weeks.

personally i learned was goin in my back yard and practiced shooting without a ball ...mimicking my strong hand(right) and would do it till i was sweating bullets and then would put a ball in and shoot and continue like that.....the only bad thing about havin a good left hand is when no one on ur team can shoot lefty your always forced to shoot left handed on man up. doesnt bother me tho because im about 55% righty 45% lefty...meaning in just about even with both hands

i was wondering if it is important to practice offhand groundballs at all, or would it not really matter, i dont think it would be that important but may be helpful once in a while, any input?

i think its very important to practice off hand groundballs.. i practice this with my youth team (i am their new coach *so proud*) very often!
just think of the situation where the defender tries to pick you up an the ball lies on your weak side? i think its important to practice because only then i could be shure to protect the ball and my stick on both sides equal...

what's really weird is i scoop better with my left hand.....

or if you lose the ball when your sticks in your left hand ....it would be much easier to scoop it up with your left hand raher than switching hands just to pick the ball up
