why is it that USL is the rule setter for Womens but not mens Lacrosse. What involvement does the NCAA have in womens, and how did it get this way. what involvment does USL have in the Mens game. Wouldn't ti be easier to have one organization to govern both sides?
USL is the rule setter for youth lacrosse
NFHS is the rule setter for high-school lax in those states that are members of NFHS
NCAA is the rule-setter for varsity college lax.
USL uses NCAA rules for MDIA games.
USL is the rulesetter for post-collegiate club play
ILF is the rule setter for international play
MLL sets the rules for their pro games
NLL sets the rules for the indoor pro game.
And this is just for boys/men......

USlacrosse governs all of US wlax rules. In 2007 however, the NCAA is taking over college lacrosse, so we'll see how that affects the game. As far as I know, USlacrosse will still be doing HS and youth wlax, but I'm not positive. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. IFWLA does the international lacrosse.

Yes, it would be easier if one organization ran everything, but it's not how it developed historically and now it ends up being somewhat political. Remember USL is only about 8 years old.
