ok so this is my second year playing and im on varsity and im one of the 2 sophomores counted on to contribute, so theres alot of presseure. i have an unpinched revo and one day i was having touble catching the ball for some reson and my coach got all over me. and since that day every time he started yelling at me he made my go throw at the back of the net untill i felt i could continue.
so one day when i was having alot of trouble he told me to use his stick, a tourqe. and i did and all of the sudden i was catching every thing throwing pin point passes and dodging every one.
so my question is, was i having trouble catching becuse the revo was actually too wide, or because its to heavy making it harder for me to move the head avound, and has this happend to any one eles?
sorry for the long post and thanks for the help

interesting.. perhaps the way it was set up just suits your game.. there are certain heads and string jobs that just work for certain playing styles.. that's why it's important to try out a lot of heads and stringing variations.. to find the one that suits you the best..
it's highly possible that the stick set-up had a lot to do with your success.

the head could b the problem. im not sure how the weight would affect u, so it could be the pinch. i would suggest playing w/ some teammates sticks and see if u find one u really like.

While I agree with Wheelax's assessment of your situation, I don't see the problem you are having with a Revolution. The Revolution is not, based upon today's standards, a very pinched head which means it has an increased catching surface for you. Definitely go and see what you liked about the Torque. If it is just a matter of stringing, you can always imitate that stringing in your Revolution.

yea i think it might be becuase the revo is unpinched, it pulls the mesh alittle tighter and there for makes the mesh lessforgiving.

you could try doing orange's tutorial on giant mesh.. it really helps eliminate "tight" spots in the mesh.

This is likely 100% mental (the different feel of the head, the fact that you're using a new head, the idea of no longer using a head that was giving you problems) because honestly, a few centimeters difference in pinch isn't going to do wonders.

partially true, but I have worked with hundreds of kids who notice a huge difference after I mess with their sticks..
it's amazing how many younger players don't know how to string, or how to make a playable pocket..

If I had to take a guess, I'd say the first thing to look at is the pocket. Might be a little tight at the point where the ball hits.
(I mean after all, the Torque and Revo have similar width at the point where you should be catching, and the Revo is probably only a big fat one ounce or so heavier.)
Suggest finding a stickdoctor and asking for some pointers. Alternatively, borrow your coach's stick, and see if you can copy the pocket.
