ok so this week i hit some kid, there was some helmet to helmet contact on accident and i ended up with a huge cut under my eyebrow and 11 stitches. i've seen this happen 4 times....shouldn't cascade try to fix this?
oh and also would i be entitled to a refund or exchange? the piece that holds the facemask to the visor also broke in this hit.

I seriously doubt it has anything to do with Cascade's product. You simply got hurt.
As for the facemask breaking, check to see if and when your warranty expires. If the date has already come and gone, then you are out of luck. If your helmet is still covered under warranty. I am sure that Cascade will be only to happy to answer your questions and address your concerns.
The best place for information is the people at Cascade. Give them a ring.

It's because of the way the CPX fits (and the way people make the CPro fit by pulling it further down). The company encourages you to fit it so the liner sits right on your eyebrows. This leads to exactly what happened to you on bad hits. As to whether they should fix it, well there's not really any need to because you could just adjust the chinstrap so that the helmet sits higher on your head, and you end up looking through the middle bars. That's actually the way they tell you to fit the CPro (not the CPX though.)
As for the broken piece, yes, that should be under warranty. Call or e-mail them.

happens all the time in helmeted sports. same reason linebackers always have that cut on their nose, the helmet slides down and cuts their face. Its part of a contact sport, deal with it.

its because of pressure most likely when boxers fight they dont have and sharp objects do they? but yet they still bleed

deal with it my [NO CURSING]. if you pay well over $200 for a helmet you should expect it to take a hit without hurting you.
yes cascade should address this issue. it would probably only take a slight adjustment of padding, and really if you are trying to a product that exceeds industry standards as cascade claims, kids getting sent to the hospital because of their helmet is really unacceptable.

Kids get sent to the hospital because they play lacrosse too - should we ask nerf to step in and redevelop the game - maybe we can play it in one of those bouncey castles and no one will ever get hurt.
Contact sport people get hurt - sorry.
Cascade does a fine job if they did not the gov't and the councils they set up for safety would shut them down. I am sorry to hear of anyone get hurt but these are (or appear to be) isloated incidents and are part of the risk of playing a sport in particular this sport.
Talk to cascade ask for a replacement - then strap on and get back to it.

Think about this carefully:
It's designed to take a certain level of hit when it's properly maintained and worn exactly per instructions.
If it's in poor shape, not worn correctly and/or sustains a harder hit that it's designed for, guess what - it might not work exactly as intended.
Oh, and to the other guy - accidents happen in lacrosse. There's pain, but THERE'S NO CRYING!!!

Just e-mail Cascade and see whats up, the worst they'll do is send you a new helmet becasue of warranty.

Haha, reminded me of one of my high school games this past season. I drilled a kid helmet to helmet twoards the end of the game and he went flying. 1 minute later in the handshake line his face was covered in blood.
ANYWAYS I dont really think theres anything you can do about the helmet cutting you, but Cascade will fix the facemask if its under warrenty.

This is not an isolated situation. Happened to me. Here's a topic:
http://www.lacrosseforums.com/showthread.php?t=41452
And my post...
How about this for weird.
I was facing off, and there was a scramble for the loose ball. I go down to try to scoop the ball, and at this point my helmet is up next to this guy's shoulder. All of a sudden, the wing man comes flying in, and with my head already on the chopping block that was the other faceoff guy's shoulder, rams me with either a shoulder or a helmet right into the side of my head.
I get up and start to feel some dripping coming down my head, and I figure that I shouldn't be sweating that much, so I run off and go, "I think this feels like blood."
I take off my helmet and everyone's like, "Whoa, your head's bleeding."
5 stitches, and there's still blood on my helmet, but what exactly opened the cut?
It was a pretty vicious hit, I like flipped in midair, but it was definitely weird when I started bleeding.

Guys, again, it's the liner being so tight down on top of your eyebrows. If it were sitting higher on your forehead, it wouldn't likely happen at all. But that's the way Cascade advises us to wear them, and that's the way they're most comfortable. Unfortunately, it also leads to injury potential.

I seriously doubt that this happened because of how the CPX is designed. Cascade tests all there products at twice the speed required to make the helmet legal for NCAA play. They put in a lot of time into there products and take a lot of responsibility for there products, and they will fix the facemask if it's under warranty.

i actually dont. Like i said, thei happens all the time in sports that involve a helmet, when the helmet meets a powerful force, yes, it prvents a concussion, but it will still do some damage. it has happened to me in football before, and once in hockey.

It has happened to me in hockey and football too but it is yet to happen it lacrosse, so obviously they're doing something right.

Cascade is about have a lawsuit brought on from this issue, but the CPX can break and tends to in college lax during practice, the two rivets will pop out and then the visor has no support then yur eye brow hits the shell its an issue that cascade needs to fix.

Yeah but the injury will occur when they break but cascade will fix any cpx even if its over a year great mask company, but its a rare occurance for them to break, but it does happen a guy on our worlds team it considering a lawsuit, same deal 11-12 stiches.

my bro hit a kid with his clh2 on and the top of the visor modification bent forward making a two pronged weapon. it pierced the kid and blood was running down his shoulder. it was cool, but wierd.

i've never seen anyone get cut from a helmet but i did see a helmet break where it connects to the facemask. the part seems pretty easy to break..a little piece of plastic...

its about 3 inches on my forehead (maybe a little less) - clearly visable - 15 stiches on the inside - 15 out. Its healed now, very ugly.
