Does anyone else think it's ironic that people like mikey powell who has his own line never really uses any of his own equipment...in the mll he has to use warrior equipment and on team usa he has to use stx equipment...that doesn't allow for a lot of time to use his signature gear

just thinking about this after I saw the all stars vs. usa game photos

Well, when Mikey can use his gear, he doesn't use it either!

Mikey was caught using an Evo Pro at the Hawaii Tournament a few years ago, just months after he signed with Brine.

i actually like the swerve. but the i hate the rest of his line. i gotta check out his new heads in person before i form an opinion. you cant always go by word of mouth because lots of people are biased against mikey, (including myself)

he only uses warrior in the MLL because warrior is the sponsor , and same for the USA team they are sponsored by STX so he has to use their equipment

That is paul cantabene. Probabaly one of the best face off men ever. Also why is he wearing two different arm guards. Back on topic. he probably had the evo pro from the mll and liked how it was strung so he didnt use his swerve.

It was actually pre-Mike in MLL.

And as for the Hype, it's his preference so if it works for him than it doesn't matter what it is.

he uses his own gear in his free time and some practices. i think its because he plays a lot on the MLL(use to) and now since hes on the U.S team, hes gonna use stx gear. personally i like stx gear better than warrior because stx doesnt break as much. i also feel soz for mikey powell because he has to use warrior gear and he thinks is garbage. i hope he thinks STX stuff is better.

Yup. (For another slightly oddball selection by a pro player, Tom Ryan has been spotted using a DeBeer Intrepid!)

Anyway, the Hype's got that funny mid-sidewall partially recessed pocket at the throat. Maybe Cantebene has figured out a way to string that to make it work for him.

Now, I don't like those heads, but I know that many at least think they're good enough for a second head. There was a local sporting good store fire-saling a stack of them for $40 (complete stick) recently. Now, I've seen bad heads hang around that store for ages even at prices like that, but the hypes all disappeared in a hurry.

(Also goes to show you kids that the most expensive/most popular/prettiest stick isn't necessarily the best one for the player).

And maybe he didnt like any of Brines heads when he first signed, so he stuck with his Evo Pro. And I doubt they were producing Swerves just months after he signed with Brine.

he doesnt play MLL cuz first, warrior is garbage, second, pay sucks, third, hey has so much to juggle around he stressed, and lastly hes playing on team U.S and is gonna retire till MLL gets better
