View Full Version : Third Eye Blind
Do you guys like them? They were my favorite band a long time ago, back when I was 9 or something. I heard them on the radio awhile ago and downloaded a couple of their songs and realized they're still really good. My favorite songs are Never Let You Go and Semi-Charmed Life.

Pick up 'Out of the Vein' their latest effort. They lost some member, it might've been the guitarist or drummer who wrote all the hooks for the songs. . . so it's kind of different.
But it is still good. . . download 'Company' and 'Crystal Baller' 'Wake for Young Souls' and 'Blinded' to see if you like the feel of the CD.
I sure do.
(It's rated the same as Blue on allmusic.com)

Semi-Charmed Life is just such a good song. Almost everyone I know, no matter what genre music they're in to, has a smile on there face when that song comes on. Simply a classic.

i've really gotten into third eye blind again recently and just can listen to them all the time, 'Blinded' and 'Crystal Baller' as well as 'I Want You' and 'Deep Inside of You' and then 'Slow Motion' is a great song, but very graphic to say the least

I can't seem to find out if they've broken up or not. As someone said they lost their lead guitar player pre-"Out of the Vein" but haven't heard any news on them since. It is mysterious to say the least.

Their one of the few main stream rock bands that has/had (not sure if their broken up or not) a creative and catchy style. Well written music. My favorite song was "Slow Motion".

I like basically all their songs on the three cds.
I believe they are still together, still doing small concerts and such. Ive been trying to find info on them and its really hard to see if they are going to come out with another cd, but Im hoping they do.

With the loss of their guitarist, their songs have become more mature and less radio friendly:
"Can we get the chemicals in? Mix it up with Vicodin. Because anything is better than this." and other lines like that.
But good for them, it's not very often you see a rock group lose a key member and write better songs to cater to a more refined audience.
Yeah, they're still together. Pick up 'Out of the Vein' it rocks.

I had to bring back up this thread... Semi-Charmed Life came up on my ipod the other day, I was listening to the lyrics, then looked them up, and finally realized that the song is about crystal meth and sex. Great song.

it took forever for someone to mention jumper! that songs amazing. they have a song for ever mood. i put them in the same group with goo goo dolls, music that tugs at the heartstrings, well written hooks and melodies coupled with great lyrics that everyone relates too. gotta love 3eb

3eb is goodness. their new cd had a much different feel to it, but I liked it a lot. Misfits and Faster were my personal favorites.
I missed the 3eb concert here at UNH because i had to work. lame.
And actually, a lot of their songs are about sexual stuff, which no one really realizes.

Okay, Semi-Charmed Life is a catchy song, no doubt, but the lyrics are about as sinister and dark as it gets.
Still, their first major release is an excellent album, and I think it's stood the test of time.

Honestly, it'll prolly be the best show you ever go to.
maybe. but it's hard to beat the likes of eric clapton, bb king, allman brothers band, and lynyrd skynyrd.

I'm going to see Third Eye Blind at The Webster in CT and SUNY-Geneseo in NY. Seen them twice before, and I'm pumped. They put on a GREAT show. They're doing an East Coast mini-tour during November, you should definitely check them out.
Plus, their new album, tentatively titled, "The Hideous Strength" is slated for an early 2008 release.

Some of their songs were big, i.e semi-charmed life, jumper, etc.. But Out Of The Vein came out after their popularity went down, even though it wasn't that big, (but they were popular enough radio wise), that's why Crystal Baller isn't that known of a song, but it is def. a good one, definitly one of my favorites, and my favorite off that cd.

Just found out; Third Eye Blind April 27th, Oswego State....I will be there.
I've gotta give Oswego State mad cred when it comes to booking concerts around my likings. Last year O.A.R., this year Third Eye Blind, both easily in my top 5.

Yes. Slow Motion is amazing, but the lyrics are a little rough. Crystal Baller is also great, Losing a Whole Year, Graduate.
