If you clamp down on a ball and it gets caught in the sidewall because they are so tight and it doesnt come out will the ref give the other team possesion or will you get called for an illegal stick?

No, it is not legal, it's withholding. But the stick is not deemed to be illegal.

So it is considered withholding as soon as it appears "stuck" ?

yah, so basically if you clamp down and can tell it's going to get stuck try fling it out. When I FO I can usually tell it's stuck and try and go through my legs to a wing man and get it in the air. To get enough momentum to get the ball into the air it's pretty much guaranteed that it will dislodge before a ref will call it.

If it gets stuck, leave your stick flush with the groud, start shaking your stick while protecting the ball, at which point it is not as tightly in your head, then your good to flip it out. Or you can use excessive force to get it out on a normal flip.

Definitely a give away. It'd be better to just pick it up and cradle and what not pretending that the ball is in the right side of the head than just pass it off to someone close. Warn one of your wingman though that it happens often so they can expect a less than perfect pass.

Ehh, I've learned to pull it off, while shielding my stick from the close ref with my body, and from the far ref it just looks like I'm 'bout to bust a move.
