You know what im talking aabout here (I hope), when you take a shot off the dome you always smell the burnt rubber on plastic smell of the ball hitting your helmet. My question for you goalies, do you like the smell or absolutly hate it?
I personally love the smell, nothing better IMO. Every other goalie in our HS hates it though, I dont know why.
My helmet shell is white too so I get too see the scuffs nice and clear :agree:

HAHA! I love that smell, though I don't always get it off my lid. I get it off my head a lot. I also love the smell when 2 titanium sticks hit, but the burnt rubber smell rules all!

I don't really care for that smell. As long as I saved it I am happy. The only time I get hit in lacrosse is during box. I believe I never got hit in the hlmet in field this year.

I thought we were talking about the burning smell coming from making a save with a stick... but at first I can't stand the smell.

i find getting hit in the head is fun it gets u pumped for the next shot and gets you really into it. My buddy who is native can rip shots of at about 113-117 give or take a few. so everytime i get hit in the face i get the burming rubber smell

My freshman year, one of my assistant coaches played with us in practice. He could still shoot in the high 90's. I took a few off of the throat and top of my Eclipse... and that was the first time I ever smelled that. I thought something was on fire, and then my head coach (I say that very loosely) explained to me what happened.. haha.
