Hey guys, this is a thread for all you BMX'ers out there. you can post your bike, your dream bike, what kind of BMX your into, your BMX hero and anything else BMX related. I'll start:
I got a Diamondback Joker '05, but I am looking into a new bike that is more street friendly and doesn't fall apart whenever I ride it (stupid Dicks Sporting Goods can't put bikes together) and I am into flatland/dirt.
If any one knows any good flatland bikes let me know.

i used to race bmx. i have a limited edition jeremy mcgrath GT, with all my old sponsors' labels on the frame. i quit because lacrosse started taking over my life with camps and i was 2 teams and i had no time to race. i am thinking about getting back into it, but would have to drop playing tennis to do it. i dont know what to do! this bike is almost 8 years old though, so i am definitely in need of a new one. the back fork is bent, the handlebars are crooked and the grip around the handlebars that holds it to the frame is stripped so it moves back and forth. the cranks are both bent, and the sprocket is missing a few spokes. know any good racing bikes anyone?

I wouldn't build my own because they are extremely expensive and I am only 15 and without a job. If I start getting better I will get a new one in a few years but untill then I gotta stick with stock bikes. But I will replace parts if they need replacing. Dude, definately quit tennis for it, I mean tennis is fun, and I play every chance I get but I guess I'm saying that cause I quit tennis, I didn't like my team or anything so I didn't feel the need to keep playing. Just for the record I plan on getting a fit bike.

I had a Free Agent Speedway.

With a carbon fork (forget the brand)

magnesium pedals

and a 3 piece crank

and fox pads, and number plate...

I raced if you didn't notice.

I won a 500$ off of a bike prchase so i bought a really nice mtn. bike and BMX kinda left my life

That's depressing, leaving BMX for mountain biking? Ouch. Since I have really never gotten into BMX and all I have is a craptastic Diamondback, I am still trying to decide if I should race or flatland. What are good tires to race with? Being dirt AND street. Or can I tell by the bikes that got the wire looping out in front of them that they are made for racing and not tricks?

i raced with knobby tires, cause my track was all dirt. some tracks are pavement in the the berms and dirt on the jumps and straights. in that cause you should go with a tire with less tread, but can really stick, something thats really rubbery. i always liked the feel of thick tires, while others can go with thinner tires. and yeah a racing bike has the loop of brake wire in front. because of this, you cant turn the handlebars all the way around.

They still make some of those bikes with only the back brakes that have gyros. I dont know whether to get one with or without it.

Hey, I'm interested into getting into BMXing and was wondering if you all could recommend a good complete or incomplete bike for me. I'm 6 foot and growing, 165-170 lbs, we have some hills, I was thinking a bike just to do tricks on flatland. Nothing too expensive though. Thanks.

YHS, dude, you gotta just go with what feels right, Your size isn't going to make a difference, well, that much. As for recomending a bike, Don't get any Mongoose, Haro, Diamondback, or any other cheap childrens brand. For building I think I would stick towards a Fly frame and Odysey parts, but complete I would get a Fit.
And A Is For Apple, please don't come into my BMX thread and say get a mountain bike. Mountain biking is FAR from BMX and it is NOWHERE close to as cool as BMX. If you are going to tell people to get a mountain bike instead of a BMX make your own thread and don't spread your lies in mine. Thanks.
