Hey guys,
So for lacrosse we have lifting/sprints and conditioning at 8 in the morning 4 days a week during the summer. I am going to them but so far i've been either feeling sick or throwing up at everyone of them. Dont know what to do... i usually have a little bit of water before i go and eat nothing cause id think that'd upset my stomach more. Any suggestions? more sleep/more fluid/food.....
I also prolly sleep 5 or 6 hours on a good night... last night was about 3 but i had alot of stuff on my mind..

Get to bed as early as you can. I know it's summer but if you want to feel good when doing the stuff it's a small price to pay. Try drinking a big glass of Orange Juice so you can get some sugar in you and replinish some vitamins. That's what I do and it works for me...

You have to eat something. Without eating anything, you have no energy, and with no energy, there is no preformance. When people say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, they weren't lying. The time between dinner and breakfast is the most extreme period without eating. Even if you eat dinner at 11:00 and have breakfast at 7:00, that is 8 hours. The time between breakfast and lunch is about 4 hours, the time between lunch and dinner is 6 hours tops (and that is pushing it). Even if you have to get up around 6:30 to eat by 7:00 so you don't train right after you eat, that would be better. If you aren't getting enough sleep, try going to bed earlier. Because how you are describing it, it seems like you are going to bed past midnight leaving you tired for the next morning.
Good luck, hope that helped. Keep us posted.

I tried searching on Google but couldn't really find anything. But for me, personally, if I am mildly dehydrated, and I drink a 16 ounce glass of water, I can usually feel the effects with in 5 or so minutes.

i would definately suggest eating like a power bar or protein bar or something before you lift.
it will help.

i think eating about thirty minutes before you lift would work. dont eat RIGHT before you lift, you have to give your body time to digest your food and obsorb the protein and nutrients. you might have to go to bed a little bit earlier, but i would rather go to bed early than throw up because thats like the worst thing in the world.

You should eat, and rest between workouts. Get a lot of sleep - muscles need rest so they can build

You should drink a lot of water before the workout (not right before) so that you're hydrated by the start of the workout, and then during the workout just take small sips maybe in between different exercises. Like everyone else said, get more sleep, and make sure you eat a little while before.

It actually takes almost a whole day for water to get all the way through your system and actually hydrate you. This is why it is important to start drinking lots of water the day before games and such.

try to eat a little healthy something before. U want atleast 2 hrs before maybe so you want to wake up with enough time. I think anything less than 2 hrs you have to be more careful what you eat, like plain toast instead of like cereal. Dairy sits in the stomach longer, so i always try to avoid that, and eat slowly and not too much. Try to take sips of gaterade or water, not just chug. You don't want to get that feeling in ur stomach like u cant put anything else in. You want to have a little something, but not too little.

Go to www.nutritionexpress.com and buy a 5 lb jug of protein powder. Mix it with 12oz of water in the morning. Drink one about a half hour after training too. Your muscles need time to regrow. All that burn you feel and the sluggishness is because the muscle fibers tore. The protein will help shorten your recoil and make you more apt to do well. Also, eat some real food after the training, because this stuff makes you super hungry. One last thing, go to bed at a reasonable time man. lol

It's ridiculous to think that you would be healthy enough to function on only 3 hours of sleep. For a teenage body to properly grow and repair muscles, it needs AT LEAST 8 hours of sleep at night. This throwing up thing sounds like dehydration and pure lack of energy catching up with you. Get on a regular sleep schedule (i.e. fall asleep and wake at consistent times) and drink just under a gallon of water daily to avoid further problems and see better physical improvement from your workouts...
